LOS ANGELES – “American Idol” contestant David Hernandez once entertained audiences by removing his clothes instead of singing tunes, a manager at a male strip club in Phoenix said.
The 24-year-old finalist from Glendale once worked as a stripper at Dick’s Cabaret, appearing fully nude and performing lap dances for the club’s “mostly male” clientele, club manager Gordy Bryan said Monday.

How do you know that? He is apparently straight but is acting gay to get money. That is pretty much acting like something you are not. That is as bad as it get for acting like someone you are not.

An actor gets paid to “act” gay. I’ve been to Burn, I’ve met the guy (and the guys he’s done). He isn’t acting. And any man who might think that a guy stripping in a male strip club (where the clientele is 95% men) isn’t playing with the twig and berries for a bit of enjoyment is delirious. And Scottsdale sucks.

The truth is, the controversy and publicity created by this news will only help him. It helps the audience differentiate between the contestants, and he’ll definitely now stand out. There’s another gay guy on the show, and that guy is getting overwhelming support from the viewers.
Will he win? Probably not. But I predict he will get pretty far into the competition.
