VP Daughter Drinkin', Shootin'

VP Daughter Drinkin', Shootin'

Okay, let’s look at what we have: Underage drinking (unless it is legal to drink at age 17 in Alaska), FAKE Scissor Gang Mafia, gun use on the back forty, and Baby Daddy (who happens to say that he doesn’t want kids on his MySpace)! What was McCain thinking?! He met with Palin 1 day before he picked her and obviously did no background check. Mr. Palin has a DUI, a 17 year old single and pregnant daughter, charges of abuse of power. I’m sure this is just the tip of the iceberg. I did like Palin’s hair when she was a sportscaster though!

Right now, I would rather vote for McCain, a proven patriot and someone who was in a POW camp for 5 years and been in politics for 30 years, than a 1 term senator who eschews his own race (white– the race that raised him) has shown very little sacrifice for this country and is garnering votes purely on agitation. But that doesnt mean I am a republican….its like when your team doesnt make it to the superbowl….who do you cheer for ??? The team you hate less obviously.

    Obama 2008 says:

I support Obama 100%. While I don’t care what Palin’s kid does on her own time, the point is that people went through a lot of trouble to throw dirt on Obama, which is done in politics, so I dont understand why most of the posters have replied so negatively. I think McCain picked her one, because she’s a woman. He thinks she is his ace of spade. Hillary was running, so now he thinks he can take the woman voters by selecting a female vp. Also, I’m quite sure he researched her background; another reason why she was picked. How many women her age have a daughter pregnant at that age? Exactly. She’s relatable.
    Good day.

But it is very relevent. Unlike Kennedy, etc., Palin wants to make it a crime to have an abortion–for any reason including rape. Made a family decision to keep her baby and her kids baby. Fine but F’ off for wanting to take that choice away from other woman and families. Mind you VP’s are almost always involved in choosing the judges in this country. And the next Supreme Court appointed judge will decide this mind you. Will not fund sex education but only abstinence only programs. And, of course, thinks global warming is a myth and has nothing too do with man made decisions. Aren’t you people sick of this holier than though hypocrites?

I find it hard to swallow that a woman who already has 4 grown children would elect to have a 5th at the age of 44 …It seems likely the mother would be someone much younger . First the baby was said to be 3 months old , then 4 , now they are saying 5 months old . Isn’t it possible that Bristol is not really 5 months pregnant …maybe only 4 or even 3&1/2 ?? If true , she could easily be the mother of both children . And judging from the photos posted here and elsewhere , Trig probably suffers from fetal alcohol sybdrome , not down’s …
It all casts aspersions on Bristol’s upbringing …Can we trust Sarah with the security of the nation when she manages her own household so poorly? And beleive me …with John McCain’s age and poor health , she could easily become president if they are elected …Really scary !!!

    Be Real says:

It’s a sad state of affairs in the United States when everyone is saying these pictures reflect the normal life of a teenager. People questioned, who hasn’t done this stuff when they were a teenager? The answer, me. I never drank alcohol at the age of 17. I NEVER have even seen a gun and I am 31 and my grandfather was in the police force, father in the military, and brother in the military. And I did not have sex until I was in college. So this sort of behavior is not the norm for every teenager and should not be the norm. What kept me in line and grounded was great parents. Obviously that is lacking in this young girl’s life. Let’s not get so defensive to the point where we say this behavior is ok. It’s funny, when a drunk kills someone everyone is up in arms. Now we know her husband has a dui and her daughter drinks and is underage doing it. When someone shoots someone, we’re up in arms. Why did they have a gun in the first place? Now we clearly see her with guns in these pictures. And forget about teenage pregnancy, it was so horrible and a drain on society until Bristol got pregnant. Now we should all be proud that she is keeping the baby! That is such bull! So let’s praise EVERY teenage pregnancy and congratulate them for keeping their baby. Well, that can no longer be a platform for Republicans to discuss since we’re praising Bristol. It’s funny, when Jamie Lynn was pregnant, everyone threw her mother, Lynn Spears, under the bus. And she’s not running for a public political office! She’s just the mom of a entertainer. America is a funny place. We judged Lynn Spears more than we’re judging someone we are trusting to run our country? She is running for a public office where we will vote for her. If she was running a private company, I could care less. But I am interested in knowing everything about anyone who makes decisions that are going to impact my personal life.

McCain’s speech last night was inspiring and moving, I mean who wouldn’t be touched by such a story I guess my question is this, what exactly is the fundamental differences between John McCain and George Bush’s policies?

    - He will continues no child left behind which clearly doesn’t work.
    - He will make the same failed tax cut policies of the last 8 years permanent.
    - He will continue spending $10 billion dollars in Iraq monthly even though Iraqi government just reported almost half a trillion dollars in surplus. That amount will double by 2012.
    - McCain says that Obama wants to leave our health care system for the bureaucrats to run. EXCUSE me, is it just me or doesn’t the bureaucrats currently run or healthcare system. Have you try calling insurance companies to approve your simple anti-biotic medication? Ok maybe you all are very rich people but why i come from, 1/3 of foreclosed homes is as a result of huge medical bills.
    - Did i mention that he also wants to privatize social security? Listen to his rederrick, He a single family getting additional $1,500 a year won’t make any impact BUT guess what, he is advocating for free gas tax. Now i know i drive a lot but exactly how much do you have to drive in other to save the equivalent of $1,500. I will let you do that math. Let me give you a hint, you will have to drive 19hrs/day for 10 months just to save $1,500. It’s almost like dept. store coupons, you buy things that you don’t need just to save 30 cents. is that really a savings?

These are things he has said and I’m not making it up.

    Dan in SC says:

Let’s see, Hussein… opps, we are not supposed to say that are we ? Obama used cocaine when he was about the same age that Palin’s husband got a DUI… think about it, cocaine is an illegal substance… alcohol is legal, except if you over consume and drive. If you told me I had a choice of a spouse who used alcohol or cocaine, only a fool would choose cocaine. And don’t forget Obama was the cocaine user, not the spouse. Obama’s spouse is a racist. He and his spouse attend a racist “church,” and has racist friends and advisors. Obama befriends terrorists, he is a socialist who wants more government and more taxes. Only the young and inexperienced think this is a good combination. Once you start paying taxes and see where the politicians spend the money do you realize why this is such a bad idea. If in 1973 when Jimmy Carter was president, we had started moving to energy independence we would not be in this situation today. Keep in mind, or rather for those of you not yet born, that was the time we waited in line for hours for gasoline. Rather than solve the problem, here we are more than 30 years later, and we realize, OMG, we have to deal with this… and, of course, it is now all G. W Bush’s problem. BTW, I am not a Bush fan.

Never has the US, or any country, taxed its way to prosperity. Only tax cuts spur the economy. Do you really think the government can decide best how to spend the money you earn? Ask any Canadian how socialized medicine works.

Life is not fair, it is not supposed to be. Why do you think evolution worked? If you have a sibling and your parents offered you both an allowance for chores completed consider this. What if, at the end of the first week your brother did none of the chores but dad still gave him his money. Same at the end of the second week. How long before you quit doing your chores if you still get the same thing? That is socialism. It does not work, never has and never will because it rewards those who are lazy and punishes those who strive to excel. Communists say that when socialism reaches its perfect form, it is communism. The US is the strongest, most successful country on the planet because we have always rewarded those who excel. If you think communism works, go visit Cuba, or China. Yes, communism is a “classless sociality” so everyone is treated “fairly.” If you think empty store shelves, little food and clothing, almost no entertainment, no health care, few cars, etc. is fair, go try it… then you can decide if you want to work for a candidate who promotes socialism.

Most of the posts I see here point out a young, inexperienced readership. When you are young, you vote with your heart, as you get older you vote with your head. I see the federal government having only a few real values. One is to build roads as interstate highways, another is the protection of our borders (which includes protecting us from countries that might threaten us from a far). The rest should be handled by the states. Our forefathers understood this. Few today do.

Remember, as I said, life is not fair. Those who work hard will almost always succeed. Please try to understand this, as hard as it might be to get your mind around this… most people who do not have money, do not have money for a reason. They made bad decisions, and continue to make bad decisions, day in and day out. Not just one bad mistake, many, many of them… and they continue to do it. Look how many lottery winners are broke within a short period of time, in fact worse off than before because they didn’t even know they had to pay taxes on those winnings! How many homeless people have you worked for? Duh, people who provide jobs have money. Those who don’t have money work for those who do. Which do you want to be?

Life is not fair, it can’t be if you want good doctors. Can you imagine if everyone who wanted to be a doctor could get a license to practice? Boy, is not fair that just anyone cannot be a doctor? The same is true for most professions. I sure can’t be a brain surgeon… is that not fair? If you want the best, you have to let the best come to the top. It won’t happen when everyone is “rewarded” the same. It also won’t happen when those who earn money (based, perhaps, on years of education and training) then have it taken from them to the point there is no advantage of the education and training. Are most corporate executives overpaid? I think so. If you think so too, why don’t your spend the rest of your life trying to prepare yourself for that job? Remember, most of them started young and have devoted their life to attaining that goal. I was not, and still am not willing to work like that. So, guess what? I never earned that kind of money. Is that fair? If you aren’t willing to follow in their shoes, how can you say you would be able to take away the money they have earned. Hell, go earn your own fortune.

More government and more taxes moves us closer to socialism. Obama wants more of both. Yes, he is smooth, a wonderful speaker, he can inspire. So did Hitler. Whoa you say, am I comparing Obama to Hitler? Of course not, but it does make a point. Make sure you understand what you wish for and understand those you believe you want to follow.

If you do not understand these concepts, education yourself before November. You will benefit yourself and the country.

    Pfunk says:

    Here is another facts.

PALIN: “The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes, raise payroll taxes, raise investment income taxes, raise the death tax, raise business taxes, and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars.”

THE FACTS: The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obama’s plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCain’s plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded.

Obama would provide $80 billion in tax breaks, mainly for poor workers and the elderly, including tripling the Earned Income Tax Credit for minimum-wage workers and higher credits for larger families.

He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise.

    Ryan R. says:

What is relevant here, is that her Mom is one of those “family values” hypocrites like Elliot Spitzer, John Edwards, etc., who are always fanatical about trying to legislate their view of morality. Their obnoxious self-righteousness is always a dead give away for overcompensation of their own inner human flaws. If Palin and her husband can’t keep control of their family, that is a personal problem. All this demonstrates is Palin is an average struggling parent grappling with teenage children issues.

A few questions that deserve answers:

Q1) Don’t they have laws against underage drinking in Alaska? Isn’t the legal age 21? (She’s as young as 15 in some pics!)

Q2) Shouldn’t Sarah Palin as governor set the example?

Q3) Where were Sarah & Todd while daughter out partying & getting knocked up?

Q4) Does the GOP definition of ‘Family Values’ = More underage drinking/driving & teen pregnancy?

Q5) Would you approve of this in your house? Or your neighbor’s?

Q6) In some photos they are out drinking in the woods, cars are in the background, so… who drove these drunken teens home?

Q7) In other photos they are at home. Whose house is it? The governor’s? Her neighbors? Will charges be filed? Social services called?

Q8) Were these photos taken before young Bristol got knocked up? Afterward? (i.e. while she was pregnant?) Or, perhaps, the night she got knocked up? (Maybe all three?)

Q9) Was the governor aware of her daughter’s drinking? Does she care? Does she approve of it? Is she ashamed of her daughter’s behavior in the photos? Has she ever talked to her about it? Or, punished her for this behavior? Does she think her daughter might have a problem?

Q10) Does the governor approve of teen drinking in the home in general? How about on the highway? Does she think teen drinking laws should be enforced? Should the drinking age be lowered?

    Pfunk says:

    Ryan..

It’s interested that you only mentioned 2 democrats as a reference. Since 2000 over 250 public officials has be indited or forced out of office for improprieties, republicans makes up 73% of those numbers. This is a party whose main platform is centered around so-call “families with morals and values” John Edwards has never tried to shove his morals down your throat, It is republicans like Tom Delay who talks so much about ethics reform and then caught in corruption sting and violating campaign contribution laws.

It is the republicans like Sen Larry Craig who strongly advocates to ban homosexuality and same sex marriage while he is busy having sex with another man in an airport bathroom. At least the democrats are not trying to shove their believes in your throat like conservatives.

When you talk about morals, the first thing that comes to peoples minds is abortion. Look, Say all you want but the democrats didn’t wake up and invented abortion. Abortion is a very tough issue that faces many families. There is no doubt that it is a very hard decision for the woman who is going through with it, nevertheless it is a moral issue that individuals has to face. I don’t believe that criminalizing abortion will reduce the numbers of abortions rather it will increase it whereby making it unsafe for families and patients. It will create a loop hole that will hard for medical professional to regulate. I’m sure we all know what can happen as a result of lack of regulations.
Instead of criminalizing abortion, maybe we should take initiatives that will help the increase of foster home care and make it easy for people to adopt. We should focus on the well being of a child after birth. Abortion is a sensitive issue and I don’t believe that banning it and charging Doctors will felony one murder will come close to addressing this issue.
