Actually, the bigger trick would be finishing that can of “Old Style” in the background.

Easy the 5 spades is always the blue card, he just sets it ontop of the 8 of diamonds. there are two 5 of spades in the deck.

Bottom Card is blue back with double sided tape on face. Does false overhand shuffle placing the 8 directly underneath blue backed card. Done.

Anonymous is right. Blue card on bottom with scotchtape double folded over to stick on the selected card. My shrink showed me that trick to convince me into thinking staying home on the weekends practicing magic was cooler than going out with my friends all the time.

Yeah, no tape needed. It’s just a double left and a Hindu shuffle. Nothing special here.

    scooter says:

there is definitely no tape used in this trick. or camera cuts for that matter. it basically just uses a key card, the hindu shuffle, and flipping two cards at the same time, so they look like one card.

    anonymous alum says:

the bottom card is the blue 5 of spades and one just above it is the red 5 of spades.

if you watch him spread it out, he doesn’t spread out EVERY single card, and obviously when the person picks, they always pick from the middle.

if you watch him shuffle, the bottom card of the deck never moves and when you put the picked card back, now the bottom card, the blue on is one top.

when he spreads the cards out again, he knows that the card you picked is just under the blue one and when you watch him collect the cards again, he puts the blue card on top of the deck while the card that was just above the blue one, the red 5 of spades, is now on the bottom. he shows you your picked card by turning over the blue card AND your picked card at the same time so the blue card isn’t actually the one you picked.

When he pulls the blue card out, it is just the blue 5 of spades.

as you watch him shuffle again, he doesn’t actually change the position of the bottom card but that’s the one he shows you, the red 5 of spades.

    get it?
