Why would the local media release this video? It makes no sense? Let the Matthews family have some peace.- nik

Let them have some peace? You are a f*kn retard, seriously. Unless you are being sarcastic when you say that. Because if you were serious, you wouldn’t post it again here! Damn you make people dumber.
That is really unfortunate. The police need to look into changing their policy about pursuits. Seriously, was it that serious thay they needed to chase these three drug dealers like they are murderers or something. That cop was blowing right past red lights, he could have crashed into somebody and hurt somebody not even related to this incident.
Wow… may he rest in peace. My prayers are with his family. Nik you should take this down…
Nik, I’m surprised to see you have a heart!
Came across this way after the fact obviously but the dash cam footage sickens me. Officer Matthews was a personal friend of mine and one of the most dedicated officers I had ever met… this is not how I wanted to remember him… witnessing his last moments of life. I know too many details of his death and this video just makes the images all too real. Don’t sit there and complain about there was no need for the pursuit as I promise that had the officers involved not acted so swiftly, there would have been complaints about them not responding fast enough. Yes, it is dangerous and yes there are many factors involved.. including it was late at night and Officer Matthews’s knowledge of the area allowed him to make a decision that would have put the public in the least amount of danger considering it was so late at night on roads where there typically aren’t even pedestrians in the day time. Keep in mind, there were also firearms and a serious violent felony history involved with the suspects and their behavior was escalating.. Officer Matthews was responding to a call for backup for a pursuit in progress with dangerous felons, but he did not completely pass through red lights without a concern. You can see he did slow down at those points and that is what the sirens and lights are for. To alert there is an emergency and for the public to be just as aware. So really, save your judgment “pimpin” and try to make those decisions every day of your life at the drop of a dime all the while knowing that the public really just care about you.. even though you do everything in your power to protect them. There are bad seeds, yes…. but not all are.. and Officer Matthews was among the bravest. I miss him dearly.
These stories scare the hell out of me as I am the sister of a police officer that has been in pursuit crashes. By the grace of God he lived. My prayers with the officer and those that lost him
Can’t believe a box in middle of road got him killed.
