   He hates Stan Van Gundy more than he hates Kobe. One of them has to win. So by picking Kobe it makes Shaq look like he is taking the high road and being the better person, but in reality if Shaq would much rather the series been Denver vs Cleveland that way neither Kobe or Van Gundy would win.

     You couldnt be more right. In addition to this Shaq also hates the fact Howard stole the Superman nickname which Shaq believes belongs to him. But never the less Shaq hates Stan Van Gundy

   Nik in case you can’t remember the 90′s, Shaq used to play for the Magic. Shaq – who wants to be called the best big man ever never won a title for the Magic so he obviously doesn’t want Howard to win one. Also – don’t you remember Shaq calling Van Gundy the master of panic. Shaq would rather see Kobe get his than Van Gundy and Howard, pretty obvious.

   Well, one thing you might say is that he’s actually a decent person and is rooting for a former teammate. I don’t think that’s outside the realm of possibility, but since we’ve got to take the cynical approach to everything…Kobe and Shaq are both future hall-of-famers and arguably among the greatest player ever to take the court. Right now the NBA is on a high with a ton of incredible stars, and Shaq doesn’t even show up in their shadow. Sure, he’s got those past championships, but he ain’t getting one anytime in the near future. If Kobe wins, though, who do you think if going to show up in every career retrospective, every highlight reel? The same guy that’s already at Kobe’s side in those “Where Amazing Happens” commercials. If Kobe wins four rings, they’ll say, “Look, he did it without Shaq!” But the exception proves the rule. In order to even express that fact, you have to acknowledge that he also did it THREE TIMES with Shaq. And so as long as Kobe’s star is shining bright, Shaq gets to bask in the glow as well. And you know what? Good for him. I hope Kobe does win, and I hope we keep getting to see those highlight reels with both of them rocking the NBA’s world.
