THE DIRTY ARMY: Police on Tuesday detained a Phoenix woman suspected of embezzling more than $8,000 from a Valley Girl Scout troop. Trisha Proud, 29, allegedly had accessed the funds through withdrawals and checks written for personal use, said Dave Pubins, Scottsdale Police Department spokesman. Troop members noticed the discrepancies in March and contacted Scottsdale police June 12, Pubins said. Police continue to investigate the case. Proud was booked on one count of theft.
