THE DIRTY ARMY: Chad Brown is a local on the Richmond hipster/emo/karaoke scene in Richmond, and he hosted his own “9/11 Potluck Party.” He littered facebook and twitter with hype for his shindig; ” Chad Brown 9/11 potluck tonight. STOKED.” He seems to think the terrorist attacks are a source of comedy. He even decorated a 9/11 cake complete with burning Twin Towers. Someone needs to put this kid on blast. I usually have thick skin but this is disgusting.

Secondly, the potluck was not an anti-9/11 event or making fun of the event whatsoever. We were not making fun of the events that transpired nor the people that lost their lives. Regardless of whether it was an “inside job” or his cake, house, party, intention or whatever, it is still disturbing to see this. As someone with an immediate family member who was a first responder (fire marshall) and lost FOURTEEN men in his company I think it’s completely despicable that anyone could even think for a SECOND that a cake like that would be acceptable. Having a moment of silence does not cancel out the mockery that has been made of thousands of peoples lives.
Drinking and partying on Fourth of July and Veterans Day is not the same. According to your standards, if we made a cake in the shape of Japan with Atomic Bombs dropping on it but had a moment of silence beforehand that it would somehow be okay.
I think that this KID should grow UP and learn RESPECT.
