THE DIRTY ARMY: FORT HOOD, Texas – A soldier opened fire at a U.S. Army base inFort Hood, Texas on Thursday, unleashing a stream of gunfire that left 12 people dead and 31 wounded. Authorities killed the gunman, and apprehended two other soldiers suspected in the attack.
The shooting began around 1:30 p.m., Lt. Gen. Bob Cone said at a news conference. He said all the casualties took place at the base’s Soldier Readiness Center, where soldiers who are about to be deployed or who are returning undergo medical screening.
In Washington, President Barack Obama called the shooting “a horrific outburst of violence.” He said it’s a tragedy to lose a soldier overseas and even more horrifying when they come under fire at an Army base on American soil.

To join the army reserve, the recruiters did not warn my husband of the impact of basic training, war or anything that it would have on him and the family. They only spoke
about how much money he would get, how much he benefits money wise he
would get. They target these kids who came fresh from high school with
no direction in life and they
know exaclty who to approach. Next time you are at a mall or at a
recruiters office observe that, and you will notice how sad it is.
My worst nightmare is my husband is going to war and hes been gone a month

My husband is Christian and in the army and I am muslim. We have never debated about religion, terrorism, and race. I dont think that comes into play at all .We are happily married and I just think this is not a religion issue anymore, I think now conflicts like this: Iraq war, Concentration Cams, Terrorism, Israeil-Palestinian Conflict, Vietnam war, ect have become for of a politican game than anything else and this in return creates drifts between the people and pure hatred between everybody. I hope that this new generation will learn to be more open minded and educated.
