Before some of you start assuming he molested a child, you might want to ask yourself “why would the State change the charge to mental injury?” Maybe because they knew the now adult complainant was lying and they could never prove their case.
And before someone asks “if he didn’t do anything wrong why would he plead guilty?” Pick up a copy of the Dallas Morning News and read about the dozens (yes dozens) of people that have been released after spending 10, 15, 20 years in prison only to find out that DNA evidence proved they were not guilty.
Both the State and the Judge had an opportunity to seek jail time and chose to give him deferred (no record) after they viewed the evidence.
If you don’t like the guy – fine. But to call him a child molester and suggest someone should kill him is ridiculous. Better hope that someone doesn’t falsely accuse you some day.
