THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik, so they are hiring at Wet Republic for servers, cashiers, and bartending crew, so looking at this you have to have a head shot to barback and every job is “MODEL” I have been there many times and lets just say not everyone is a model!
I think it is a good strategy on Wet Republic’s part because last season the chicks that worked there were HIDEOUS. It was like 909 central… hopefully they will not be scouting for staff in Reno or Laughlin again.- nik

Fred Farkel says:
MGM has always hired “models” with credentials for the uber HOTT jobs.
Sounds like they are going to do that for the pool area too.
to Fred FarkelJohnny Boy says:
Looking good is one thing, but just get me a beer b!tch! I doubt models are the fastest bar backs…
to Johnny BoyCharlotte Charles says:
When hiring “waiters” compared to “models” there are huge labor law differences. If they hire “models” they can tell them how to dress, how to wear their hair, how to act towards guests etc. Compared to waiters and such where they can’t under harassment laws.
to Charlotte CharlesAllen says:
Exactly what I was going to post. I think Rio pioneered this back in the day w/ their hot cocktail waitresses that were technically “models” so they could be fired if they gained weight.
to AllenCanadianChick says:
Doesn’t hiring someone as a “model” also fall under a different set of labor laws, also allowing the employer more discretion when discriminating based on physical appearance.
to CanadianChickAnonymous says:
“model” means they can hire/fire based on looks and not get sued
to Anonymousxanadu says:
“model”-may hire/fire based on looks without getting sued. stay tune for “model parking lot attendants”, “model fast food workers”,”model accountants”……
to xanaduBeachblnd says:
Exactly…. this might be the first time most people have seen this, but any girl looking for a job in Vegas knows MOST job titles in nightlife have “model” in it for that reason.
to BeachblndDahlia says:
Well, what exactly is a “Model?” It’s just a chick dressed up, made up and hairstyled to advertise something. The problem is so many screwed-up girls think that “modeling” will try to fill in the gaping hole where their self-worth should be.
to DahliaPar for the course says:
All the clubs in Vegas have been hiring ‘models’ for at least the last 6 or 7 years for all the reasons stated in the previous comments. You can fire them if they get fat or start to look to sh*tty. That’s why they call them casting calls every year and not job fairs.
to Par for the coursestaci says:
they do that a lot of places. if they’re hired as models they can hire/fire based on looks whereas they can’t legally fire a waitress if she gets fat or something.
to stacime says:
wet republic needs to have model auditions for their clientele. Looked at some pictures of that place from last summer, and all I can say is Yuck.
to meComeback Kid says:
They did the EXACT same thing last year, yet the staff was hideous.
to Comeback Kidhmm says:
In vegas, being a “model” is based zero on looks. Its based on botched +2s and blowing one of the douche bag managers. They should get some decent looking, normal girls that might try to do a good job and get you a drink in under an hour.
to hmmVegas Critic says:
I over heard some of the “Pussy Cat Dolls” game dealers over at CP talking about auditioning…. Have you seen these girls? What a let down… a bunch of fatties, skinnies with no titties, and asian chicks with a smile do bad you’d think they ate rocks for dinner.
