Exclusive Breaking News: Dave Pappas Has Been Fired From Wynn Encore By Steve Wynn

The nightlife nightmare in Las Vegas continues…
Dave Pappas, the top dog at Wynn Encore Hotel managing Surrender Nightclub and Beach Club has been fired today by Steve Wynn.
The Wynn properties are trying to clean up their day/nightlife after being raided last weekend for drugs and having some of their top guys being accused of being on drugs.
Sources close to the situation say Steve Wynn fired Dave Pappas for tweeting that Steve Wynn’s bungalow at Encore Beach is available for $20k, also adding in a blindly manner- “but you may have to sit with him”.

As the “Director of Customer Development”, his original title at EBC/Surrender when they were opening..he sure didn’t develop much! I tried to make numerous reservations with this guy and was blown off every time. Ended up placing my reservations with someone else on the team who actually knew how to communicate and develop a customer and spent upwards of 20k(the amount he got fired for mentioning) the weekend we were there. This was bound to happen. Nightlife around Vegas has fallen into a desperate greedy hole. You spend a few thousands of dollars with a cocktail server who can’t even give you a genuine smile! It’s ridiculous. You’d think knowing you were going to get a 20% auto-grat you could at least muster up a smile. These bitches are spoiled by the auto-grats and the hosts have no true interest in the customer’s experiences any more. If Steve Wynn really wanted to give people a 5-star 5 diamond experience or at least try to, he would make it mandatory to have comments cards in the cabana’s and at the bars. The level of service this town was known for has disappeared in many of the local “hot spots”.

He was simply a door man with a fancy title and at the newest pool in town. How could you not be in demand. All the summer pool slaves and Dave will soon be in the Unemployment line in old Henderson and having to sell their prized possessions one by one. First the Caddy, then the motorcycles….

Pappas is a class act and worked his way up from the bottom to the top for 20+ years. He helped to mold the industry. You have to respect that. The Nightlife industry is a facade and everyone knows it’s all about how your image is projected. The funny sht about it is that everybody wants to be part of that lifestyle and they get so bitter when they can’t keep the front up.

All of you people who defend nightlife people are pretty clueless. Every single person that works in a nightclub has 2 sides. The public side that they show to their clients and friends, and the business side that you only see if you work for these people.
I’ve had the fortune/misfortune of working for a lot of the people who have been fired in the last few weeks and I can say without a doubt that most of them are giant assholes and completely clueless. Before I worked with Pappas he was always super nice and polite to me. Once he started at EBC he became a shill for his bosses and had nothing productive or intelligent to say to anyone. We’d all be sitting in the office and he’d pipe up about “Social Media” and how it was a great way to network about 3-4 times a day. His boss, Larry, nicest guy to your face, but you don’t want to work for him. Cory…Same thing. Costello, same. Myer’s is the only genuine guy got fired and everyone in Vegas knows it. Most of these guys treat their employee’s like they’re expendable and that they should be lucky to work for them while they steal their money.

This is the worst i have ever seen of people trying to ruin some ones good name. You ask any one who actually works out here and they will tell you that Dave has always helped everyone every way he can. We are talking about a guy who comped me a whole section of his club with bottles, had the DJ shout out to me after almost every song and even brought me a Pizza (at the VIP table) on my birthday.
As commented before, he’s been out here for 20+ years and worked very closely with Mr Wynn at numerous properties, so saying there is a history is an understatement.
In regards to the guy who spent 20k with out tipping. Do you really think a manager at a club cares about your 20k a year in bottles. No, not they are booking those in 1 night at 1 table.
Just because someone doesn’t look busy when they are visible doesn’t mean that they don’t work when they aren’t. A typical host or manager will work 40 – 60 hours during the week and then host at the club for 15 – 20 a week.
