THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik, so Michael Vick was suppose to have a sit down with Oprah on February 22nd but canceled on it. I wanted to ask you why you think he did that? I mean he can’t face Oprah 1 on 1 but he could slaughter and abuse dogs? Just doesn’t make sense to me.

I know as a girl I’m supposed to “love” Oprah but I mean…come on. Vick was making a good choice by canceling his appearance (not to mention probably a good career move). I’m sure she wouldn’t have focused on his accomplishments on the football field this season, or any other positive improvements he made has made in his life. Trying to get him to talk about the past & what happened is only going to f*ck up the progress he has made so far. It’s just time to get over it people.
How about this…instead of picking on Mike Vick for something that he already paid his debt to society for, you can pick on all of the rapists running free around the NFL that everyone seems to just dismiss! It just gets old after while listening to people bitch about Vick being a “dog killer.” (ESPECIALLY dumb bitches) who don’t even know what he was convicted of, or even know that he wasn’t the only one involved.
Why can’t people just sit back & enjoying watching a talented athlete get his second chance at regaining what he lost & (it seems) took for granted? Everyone deserves a second chance…(hell! Big Ben’s gotten three! =p)

This. Ben has been a known creeper and jerk for a long time but as long as he was winning people didn’t care. Vick’s paid his debt–you do time in a federal prison for a year and a half and then try to say he got off light–and he seems to have learned his lesson and is making good decisions in his life, including finally marrying his baby mama.
