The honor code states WORD for WORD that female “Clothing is inappropriate when it is sleeveless, strapless, backless, or revealing; has slits above the knee; or is form fitting. Dresses, skirts, and shorts must be knee-length or longer.” I’m pretty sure that the cheerleading uniforms don’t pass that guideline in the code and neither do their gymnastics’ team uniforms either! BYU is full of sh*t.

I played for BYU recently, broke the Honor Code, was on probation and was reinstated, and I am Mormon as well. We know the rules of the school they tell us all the time, remind us, and also when you are recruited they show you a video telling you all about it. Everyone just likes to dis BYU for the rules but it is a Church run, Church funded school, so if you plan on breaking the Honor Code, you better cover your ass…and if this story is true about his gf spilling it, she should have waited!!!!!! there goes a great season

The honor code can be stretched in athletic activities. For example, women don’t have to wear those old-fashioned full-covering bathing suits when they swim..obviously. Apparently the poster just hates the cheerleaders because they could have pulled pictures from many other sports–volleyball (short shorts), basketball (sleeveless), tennis (short skirts)..it’s dumb. The dress standards of the honor code are completely irrelevant.
I go to BYU. I have friends that were kicked out for the same reason, and they’re white. BYU officials were probably devastated to kick him off and possibly be sacrificing their championship. It definitely wasn’t preferable but at the same time, kicking him out right before they could have won shows that they’re actually serious about the rules. They obviously do not favor the students who are great athletes and they aren’t held to any different lower standards.
