What Is Going On With Southern California MLB Teams
THE DIRTY ARMY: Hey Nik, I saw that you ran the story about the guy who was seriously injured at Dodger Stadium and wanted to send you this story before it runs in the paper. On March 29th after the Angels v. Dodgers game at Angels Stadium, a 7 months pregnant woman, her husband, and her brother were leaving the game and walking just passed the giant Angels helmet in front of the main gates. They were Dodger fans and the brother was wearing a Dodgers shirt. Behind them were a group of about 4 guys and a couple girls who had that “cholo look” to them. They were Angel fans and were chanting “f*ck the Dodgers.” When the brother turned around and looked at them, the 4 guys rushed at him knocked him to the floor and beat him severely. The pregnant sister tried to intervene and was thrown to the floor. Once she was on the floor, they continued to beat and kick her. Her husband was trying to pull them off her and was yelling that she was pregnant. Finally, they ran away. The sister and her brother were taken to the hospital where they still remain one week later. Sister started going into labor prematurely and the baby is being given medication to help his lungs develop. His heart rate keeps falling though and doctors are unsure about whether he’s going to make it. If he makes it, this will be her and her husband’s first child. Anaheim Police Department is currently looking for the people that did this to them. One of the guys has a giant Angels “A” tattooed on his back. I know you and Dirty Army have been very successful in finding criminals like this and really hope you can help out on this one too. If anyone has any information on these people, the family would greatly appreciate your help.
I am not understanding why these baseball stadiums don’t have surveillance cameras all over their property. This family should sue the MLB if she loses her child.- nik

Sue the MLB for what? The MLB doesn’t own the property where stadium is and it’s not the ball club’s responsibility to protect fans from the felonious actions of other fans. What happened was not reasonably foreseeable.
Obviously the target would be the Angels or their security co. You are crazy though saying it’s not foreseeable. Beer + a heated rivalry = potential problems.
A business is responsible for anything that happens on their property. that includes parking lots, walk ways, alleys, parking structures, etc. both the Angels and Dodgers should be held responsible for not providing security for fans at their events.
your right you cant sue the MLB but you can sue the stadium because its there responsibility to have better secerety so stuff like this never happens. i no from experiense, well not me personaly but my dads cusin owns the statiom were the bc lions play in vancouver canada and some got hit there after one game and it was leaveing on of the gates and because there was no secuity there they could have got sued but buddy just asked for season ticks lol, ( sorry for text from bb)

This is so ridiculous. These ungrateful border hopping gang banging low lifes are not only ruining these peoples lives but making it so that people can’t even enjoy going to a baseball game, which is suppose to be fun and family oriented. I also don’t understand how at a baseball game where there are thousands of people, why nobody thought “hey those people are being attacked maybe I should do something.” And you’d think with one attack that happened they would improve security, have more cops around, and like you said put cameras in. It’s really sad that all these Mexicans know are the colors red and blue,you know they aren’t wearing a’s gear for the team.
I am honestly not being a smart ass when I say this, but look up the “Bystander Effect.” It is a legitimate social psychological thing. It is rather tragic. There is no doubt in my mind this is what was occurring at the time. The more people there are around, the less of a chance there is of anyone helping them.
I really think the only smart people who read this site are girls… The bystander effect is definitely real and very sad. But not only that, I would be a little hesitant to jump in only for the fact that you never know what kind of weapons these people have on them. If they are willing to beat up a woman in broad daylight, I am sure they have some kind of weapon on them…
Absolutely correct. We don’t get involved because WE don’t want to get beat down or shot. Seriously, I used to love going to Dodger Stadium as a kid but it’s Mexican haven. There are filthy mouthed, drunk Mexicans (gang member and non gang members) screaming obscenities to anyone/everyone. Just use good judgment if you’re attending a game there. Don’t wear opposing team gear, make sure your gf is covered up, and get lower bowl seating. If you’re at a game with a hot blonde wearing a tank top in the upper deck, she’s going to hear “putos” hollering at her during the ENTIRE game. I used to think Angels Stadium was cleaner (less Mexicans) but it’s starting to get just as filthy. Save up and get as close to the field as possible (Diamond Club) and pay extra for preferred parking. It’s pathetic that we have to resort to segregating ourselves away from the “puto” element but it is what it is. Be safe, be smart. Look straight ahead in the parking lot and avoid Mexican contact.
If this really happened then I apologize to the family, but this seems a little too convenient to happen RIGHT after the Dodger fan incident. The story is so similar with someone “clinging” to life. The 29th was a week ago and there are no reports yet, but there were reports the same day for the dodger fiasco. Believe what you want but this sounds like a dodger fan trying to do damage control.

In all ways, this is just really sad…as are most of the responses. I don’t know what to believe in this case, though. There are plenty of reasons why this could have been posted. If the story isn’t true, then obviously the writer is trying to get a rise out of making “cholo” looking (might as well have just said Latino) guys the cause of all baseball stadium attacks. Well, any way you look at it the writer obviously wants to convey this. But if the story IS true, then the writer is still trying to convey the above, but also how Dodger stadium violence is a bigger news story than violence at Angel stadium.

I work for a police department as a dispatcher (not Anaheim) and asked an officer out of curiosity if he had heard anything about this incident, and he said no. I would think neighboring police departments would have at least caught word of this.
Furthermore, It’s been a week since this incident supposedly occurred and not ONE news outlet has mentioned anything about it. If this story is true that is pretty unheard of considering it required 2 people (one pregnant) to be hospitalized.
I was there that day, I did not see any fights, though I did see the guy with the very large “A” tattooed on his back. I stayed till the end and walked by the entrance with the 2 Angels hats and was standing there almost till no one was left talking to a friend and never saw any kind of fights. If this really happened why wasn’t it in the media?? Whoever wrote this must be a Dodger fan trying to bring down the Angels along with the Dodgers.
There is a lot of racism going on here, but I would think the smart thing to do at this point is for people to see the big picture, you know use your brains for a second. There are 50 million Latinos in this country, there is no way you can deport them all or get rid of them etc. the prospects of the Latino population are that they will be the majority not too long from now.
