THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik, it was nine years ago when America’s Dumbest/Legally Retarded President George Bush sent our troops to Iraq to fight a battle because Suddam because he tried killing George Bush’s daddy. I can’t stand that piece of f*cking sh*t, I have lost 4 friends to a war that had no ending. Yesterday the last 4,500 soldier left to come home. What the hell did we do there for the last 9 years? It looks like we were there for no real reason and had so many young die so soon.

Wars rarely “get over”, only sophmoric morons like the majority of people using and operating this site can simplify important issues. This one is no different. But we are with drawing troops and that beats a stick in the eye. It’s not like VietNam where we got ran out of there and everybody was home. We “won” this one so we can’t pull everybody out at once. Much appreciation goes out to our’ military and I pray they all return home safe.
We are leaving an embassy the size of the Vatican and tens of thousands of paid mercenary killers. The war is not over! Yes they left Iraq, but no this is not over!!! There are still THOUSANDS of troops in Afghanistan, and being deployed over there all the time… It’s sad, but I feel like this will never be over. But I am very thankful for those who have served, and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Iraq is by far worse off now than before. The political system we helped establish there is already falling apart and it’s a matter of time before another dictator sets up shop. If we are claiming to have freed the people from a dictator, why don’t we go into every other country and do the same? It’s all business in my opinion with Halliburton as proof (Dick Cheney’s company).
LOL…You do know Iraq had all that BEFORE the war right…In fact had some of the highest standard of living in the area…BUT we went and blew up the sewer systems, electrical/water plants, the hospitals and schools etc etc.
THEN we sent in contractors who charged BILLIONS to rebuild them…I don’t blame the troops…I blame the people who caused it…You telling me we couldn’t kill Saddam and his kids with a couple of missles? Instead we destroyed a country, it’s people slapped on a cherry on top of that ice cream and said “You’re welcomed” on our way out as we walked on the dead civilians and our troops.

No, they only took the troops out of Iraq. That does not mean the war is over by any means. We are still fighting in Afghanistan. Removing troops does not mean the end of anything. They can say it’s the end of the war all they want but, all of us logical people know that it’s not.

collateral damage will happen in any war. but those people on both sides wouldn’t be dead if we didn’t get involved in installing democracies with a fist/lying about bad intelligence which probably was fake all a long. you can’t fault soldiers for defending themselves in bad positions however you can fault politicians for putting them in those bad positions. i often think that if the US didn’t have an all volunteer army the military industrial complex wouldn’t survive due to peoples reluctance to go to war.
We still have many, many troops over in the sandbox. I am not idealizing the concept but I am defending my brothers and sisters in arms. It is our job, sworn duty and obligation to protect and defend. Some people do not believe we should be there. It wasn’t about oil for us, it was about the people in the back alleys, the children playing soccer with “dud” munitions, and the ones that were/are grateful for our help. Until you have walked in our boots then you need to withhold judgement. I am not saying that people need to agree with everything. I am saying you should consider the troops who are currently sitting in sand wishing that they could be with their families. We do what we do so that you continue to have your freedom of speech. There is a HUGE difference between supporting the troops and supporting the war. Also consider the fact that the same troops are yet again at the cusp of not getting paid. I can honestly say that there is no job out there besides the military that you can work a 79 hour week and not get paid a dime extra. BUT we signed that dotted line so we do it. I am not saying there isn’t bitching because there is however it always gets done. I am stepping off my soap box but seriously?!?
