Yay, the Internet Doctor has arrived to instruct us all on proper skin care, spouting misinformation straight from a black and white high school health film.
All of the brands she is using are non-comodogenic and do not cause acne. You could sleep in it every night and it will not clog your pores. You see, “back in the day” if one was using makeup like Max Factor Panstick, it could cause acne. Not the same anymore, and I find it shocking, SHOCKING, that an expert such as yourself does not know this.
At most, her skin care regimen may irritate her skin but with acne vulgaris that severe, everything irritates the skin, even air, so why not at least cover it if it makes you feel better.
Having been to a dermatologist for such matters, I can tell you that very little helps for very long. Even Accutane only helped for a year or so. So even if your dumba@@ assertion that she has not seen a dermatologist was based on actual knowledge, there’s only so much dermatologists or estheticians can do, and an esthetician is actually a better bet.

Makeup is a real talent and art and she has totally mastered it! I completely admire her and actually picked up some useful hints! I use lots of makeup as well. If there’s a way to boost your confidence, why not do it!? SOLESSS is just a pessimistic jerk.
Umm sounds good in theory, maybe it works for you, but just because its not supposed to clog your pores, doesn’t mean it won’t. Like you said, any and everything can irritate your skin when you suffer from acne. Makeup companies are not thinking about you when they make their makeup and slap a “non-comdogenic” label on it. They’re making it for people with “normal” skin. Sleep in it?! Are you kidding me. If I would leave makeup on (when I had severe acne) for more than 8 hours, I could literally FEEL a cycst pushing through. No DOCTOR is going to tell her that piling all that crap on her face is ok. On top of that, she has to scrub it off everyday. I can’t imagine how she strips her poor skin everyday! I’m not saying her acne would go away, but it would be less irritated if she didn’t do that everyday.

BTW, she herself made a video 5 days ago saying “non-comodogenic makeup CAN clog your pores.” You might want to watch it, even though she’s kind of annoying to listen to after a while, she thoroughly explains why it does clog your pores, and why you should never, ever sleep in it.

Hands are probably the best to use..they warm up the product and make it easier to blend, helping to avoid looking cakey. Sponges and brushes can have too much bacteria..especially if you don’t clean them thoroughly

I applaud her courage but I imagine she still looks pretty bad irl where no camera softness is added and you have best HD “available”. Anyone with decent vision or glasses can see spots under foundation. Infact, make-up makes imperfections look worse up close where no airbrushing is possible. Concealer and powder often emphasize lines and wrinkles and dry peeling off skin. IMO there’s nothing worse than caked make-up covering a zit. You still know the zit is there regardless of the amount of cake as long as you’re not blind as a mole.
have you bought make up in the last ten years? they are much lighter these days. HD makeups often have light reflectors in them making skin look smoother. primers help keep foundation and powder from settling the lines. i think you should look into quality makeup instead of cover girl. you wouldnt have that dry peeling skin if you exfoliated and used moisturizer
I’m talking from personal experience though. I do buy good quality make-up (I’m not even sure we get much Mac in England) and no matter how much I moisturize/exfoliate, there’s always miniscule bits of peeling off skin on my nose. My skin is just that dry.
I’m lucky enough to not have many eye wrinkles but from personal sighting experience the more make-up you have on your eyes the more visible the lines become. Yeah you won’t see them in a photograph or on camera but in real life with decent eyesight you’ll spot them from metres away.

I feel bad for her, not cuz she has acne. Everyone gets acne at some point in their lives, from one every couple of months to more major cases like heres. But honestly all that make-up has to be doing her more damage then good. I used all kinds of “anti-pore clogging” make-ups and yes my acne wasn’t as bad but when i completely stopped wearing it for a summer I to this day get maybe one zit a month if that. But everyones skin is diffrent. I’m 19 havn’t been wearing make-up for 2 years and don’t plan on it again. I think it makes girls uglier not prettier.

Many people opt not to take Accutane. I have struggled with acne for many years and my last resort was unfortuanatly accutane. Before you actually take accutane you recieve a pamphlet on the effects of this powerful drug. Effects such as losing your eye sight, losing your hearing, and the risk of never having children. Along with a laundry list of others. Before you supply us with your uneducated bs… Please make your self aware of the actual facts at hand:) Thanks

Acne has numerous causes and can affect anyone at any age. Despite some idiots spewing that the makeup is causing it, acne that severe is likely due to hormonal imbalances or something not related to topical-based issues. Regardless, she is working with a lot of professionals and has educated herself with the right kind of makeup and products to use on her face.
She obviously learned to work with her limitations and isn’t shy about being upfront with her issue. I give her kudos and don’t understand why she needs to be mentioned on this site. Let’s save the dirt for someone who does belong on here.

The stuff that you posted sounds pretty expensive and even if she’s getting all that for free I’m guessing it’s cause she’s lucky enough to have contacts or for plugging their names on her videos. Or if she’s a charity case for those specialists then I’m sure they won’t have the time or the wish to help millions of others for free too. Not everyone with severe acne will be as fortunate as her to have LED peels every week.

I went on Proactive to “perfect” my skin, which was never that bad, and it actually made it awful. My skin is getting better now that I stopped using it but I still feel so self conscious. Major respect for her being able to do this.

I had acne just as bad as hers but I eventually took accutane which cleared it up nicely. I applaud her for having the courage to come forth and put out a video like this. Acne made me more insecure than ever and my self esteem was extremely low but thankfully accutane solved it. She’s a beautiful girl nontheless.

Why don’t you go to a naturopathic doctor to see what sort of allergies you may have. Perhaps you are supposed to be on a gluten/dairy free diet. i used to have horrible skin but i quite using harsh medications/acne creams. changing my diet by eating properly (more greens, no wheat/dairy, drink green tea and lots of water, EFA’s, minerals, B12 etc)
I know this doesn’t work for everyone, but I had acne (hormonal), and went on Yasmin, and though it took a few months (a little worse, or the same), I now have completely clear skin. I haven’t had one pimple in like 6 months, even when my period comes. Scars stay, unfortunately. And I know it is not for everyone, but maybe, worth looking in to?

After seeing all the nasty MAC faced trolls on this site this woman is the bravest most beautiful woman that I have ever seen, she has inner beauty as well as outer beauty that shines theough. If any of the people commenting have suffered from hormonal problems, you probably know what she is going through. I know from experience that hormonal problems affect a lot more than just skin. It affects your insulin level and greatly affects fertility. It’s easy for those that have not been in this situation to judge but if they would get educated on the issue at hand, they might understand what’s going on. If you’re producing too much estrogen or not enough, this can happen. I experienced acne as a preteen and throughout middle school. It went away and then it came back in my early 20s every once and a while. It’s not able to be “cured” with just a facewash. Now that I’m being treated for my hormonal issues my skin has cleared up. I had body acne as well and it was humiliating. I always wore jackets etc so nobody could see it. It is a traumatic experience and I wish this girl didn’t have to go through it. There is nothing worse than not getting in the pool with friends or wearing tank tops because you’re embarrassed about your skin. I guarantee you, this girl can NOT help it. I tried so many medications to treat my skin and none of them worked.
I think that it’s obvious the reason she is breaking out so bad is because of the combination of a ton of different chemicals daily, unless she needs to go out that day she needs to give her skin a rest at least a couple times a week and forgo any facial makeup/moisturizer all day, plus remember to wash your face before you go to bed and my advice is to not use a nightly moisturizer so your skin can breathe, but the daily foundations u use moisturize enough through out the day, plus she is causing her skin to go out of wack by constantly using new products weekly she said at least change it up monthly before she really throws her skin balance out of wack, drink at least 8 glasses of water a day is a must for clear skin too, and stop rubbing your foundation in with your fingers that’s causing breakouts as well, shower daily and wash your face at least 2 times daily with a acne fighting cleanser, I find astrigent pads to be very effective however may cause drying, and it’s harder to apply makeup to dry skin cuz it gets flaky, remember to eat all your fruits and veggies daily too, sleep with your hair up so no oils touch your face and I heard sleeping with a silk pillow case is better for your skin but if you must change out/ wash your pillow case every few days, you know sleeping on your face, especially with make up on is the worst for aging/ pimples, but mostly unfortunately it has to do with genetics, I don’t see much medication can do for you.
You’re an idiot. There is no way a foundation holds enough moisture all day. Using your fingertips is fine if you wash your hands, it’s a whole lot easier to properly clean your hands then makeup brushes or sponges. Washing your face 2 times a day is too much for some people, if you already have an oil over-production, doing that in fact may make it worse, as your skin will then think it’s dried out, and then over-compensate even worse. She’s a make-up artist, and I believe she even says in one of her videos she takes her make-up off every night, so yes, I imagine she knows that “sleeping on your face, especially with make on is the worse for aging/pimples”. And yes, it CAN be genetic, but can be controlled with BCP & other hormones if it’s a hormonal imbalance, or Accutane.

No; tanning is actually horrible for clearing up acne. The tanning beds make your oil glands produce more oil because the UV lights are making your skin dry out. Your body is basically protecting your skin by over compensating oil. So in actuality your skin will become more oily and age faster because of the dehydration so it can better protect it self. That is why dermatologist recommend tanning beds to people with psoriasis (not acne dum dum).

I myself have a little acne and I went weeks without cover up and it made a world of a difference to my face. And yess tanning deff helps, not the greatest for your skin, just dont burn. You are beautiful I just dont agree with all the make up to cover how you really look.
The fact that someone would actually post this woman is disgusting, she’s seriously the kindest and nicest person ever. Beautiful from the inside out, flaws and all. And the fact that she isn’t afraid to reveal how she looks underneath it all shows how beautiful she really is. Everyone has flaws. But this woman does not deserve to be on a site that specializes in degrading other people and publically dissing them.
