THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik, this is Richie Minton an employee at the Carbondale, IL police dept. Several weeks ago 21 yr old Molly Young, his ex girlfriend, was shot and killed in his home. She was shot in the back of her head with a gun registered to him. When police arrived they allowed him to clean up and change his clothes before questioning. They brought him in asked a few questions and released him. Local news has not reported on this and someone needs to help expose this situation and help bring justice for Molly! Hope you can help.

I wasn’t comfortable saying so before but I do also think she killed herself. She had a bad life and the people she chose to associate with made her worse whether they will own up to it or not. Even someone else in her family committed suicide by gunshot. I never met the Richie guy.

The State Police told us that Richie Minton was scheduled to work as a Carbondale police dispatcher at 7:00 A.M. on March 24,2012 and that he didn’t show up or call in late for work. One of our many unanswered questions is: Did the Carbondale Police department try to contact him or send out an officer to his apartment to check on him? The State Police also told us that they arrived minutes after the 911 call went in at 8:58 A.M. and Richie Minton’s father, mother, and a lawyer were already there from West Frankfort which is 30 miles away. Another one of our many unanswered questions is: Did Richie call his father, mother, or lawyer before Wesley Romack (his roommate) called 911? None of the family was even notified that Molly had been shot for close to 3 hours after the father, mother, and lawyer had already driven from West Frankfort to the Carbondale Police Station.
It is very obvious that this piece of trash killed this girl. Sickening!! And for people to be blaming the girls family is disgusting and shows what type of people they are! The truth will prevail. At least I hope so! RIP Molly.
This shooting happened about a month ago and no reports yet by the coronor or any other official of what happened to the public. My family has suffered not knowing the results nor of why this is taking such a long time to get answers. We really just want answers and justice. Whatever the feelings about my family is one thing but don’t keep insinuating stories about things you all obviously know nothing about. God will provide the answers! He always does! Bottom line: Richie Minton is a piece of shit who does not deserve to be walking free among the rest of us. His family has a history of abuse and alcoholism. Richie wanted to be just like his cop dad, an alcoholic who liked to threaten his wife with a gun when he had too much to drink. Now his son has followed his example and a young beautiful girl is gone forever. Very sad.
Rich is a very close friend of mine, I believe in my heart he did not kill her. It’s a very sad situation for everyone involved, maybe you shouldn’t blast his family and bring them into this, they have nothing to do with the situation,
