Junior Seau Dead At 43

THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik, Junior Seau died today from a self inflicted shot to the chest. He is the 8th San Diego Charger to die from the 1994 team that made the Superbowl. Last year a football player killed himself with a shot to the chest and in his suicide letter wrote that he wanted his brain donated to a research center because he believed the blows he took to the head during his football career cause him to become mentally impaired. Do you think this is the same reason Junior Seau did this?
I cannot even express how sad I am about this. JS, was a die hard fan of TheDirty.com and always supported me in my endeveors. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. I’m devastated.- nik

freak me out..i just posted about the brain trauma issue the nfl commissioner should be more worried about than the bounty system…sad story
BS,every dead man supported you only because there not alive to say Nik Richie?WHO?
EXACTLY, DUDE NIK YOUR A BLOGGER EXCEPT THAT OK!!! NOTHING ELSE. NIK WILL TRY AND SELL SOME SH*T WITH JUNIOR SEAU NAME ON IT NOW. FILTHY MIDDLE EASTERN.
EXCEPT what? Please finish your thought…
Show some fukin respect man, a man just died …it’s people like you that deserve to die
NIK never lies, he don’t have to you two bit hunk of cow du, never and I mean never disrespect your True Master Nik Richie.
To me suicide seems like the cowards way out, your done but your family suffers a lifetime.
But never having walked in his shoes and known the demons he faced who am I or anyone else to judge him?
dear OP – in the money, greed, and privledge driven world of entertaninment and sports, standing in the urinal and taking a whiz next to a celebrity actually classifies one as friends. if both say hello while air drying their hands, that is “best friends” status
i guess if you take a crap in the stall next to a celebrity you are brothers?
damb why??
I am devastated as well. I was born and raised in San Diego and when I think of Chargers football, I always think of Junior. I had the biggest crush on him when I was younger and his jersey was the first one I got as a kid. It’s a sad, sad day but I just hope he’s happier. It’s a shame he didn’t love himself as much as we all did. RIP Jr. Boy could you read an offense. You will be missed terribly.
see all the people outside his house crying and devastated ?
thats exactly what this asshole wanted.
Anonymous, you are a straight coward. You don’t know what anyone who is suffering from depression is going through. Get a life and move on.
I totally agree Anonymous. Junior Seau was used to being the center of attention his whole life. He was a douche.
Shut up, Nik. He was not a fan of yours or the site. Literally NONE of the celebs you claim are your “fans” or your “friends” even know who you are. Way to try to make a tragedy about you, douche.
This is terribly sad. NOT a Charger fan but a FOOTBALL fan and 55 was/is FOOTBALL
Who gives a shit about this greedy asshole.. dick leaves 3 kids behind.
Lazy moke, go in a corner and jack off. You are a straight up punk and pussy. Get some class and respect. Obviously your mother and father didn’t raise you that great. Sorry that you are the loser you portray.
what a dick he was..
Anyone who would post something like this is worse than the scum posted on here!
RIP
a die hard dirty fan? let’s see what mr. seau has to say about that…oh wait. predictable and disgusting as always, nik.
Very happy to see he actually likes someone and feels bad about their passing. JS was a beast and it saddens me to hear the news. I’m sure he wanted his brain to be donated to science thats why he shot himself in the chest
This is extremely sad for him having to think this was his only option and for the children he left behind r.i.p. JS
He was a great player, It sux that he couldnt work through whatever pushed him to do this.
RIP JS. Maybe after this incident the league will further investigate the long term effects that concussions have on players, namely depression.
People don’t realize how depression can be. It is pain and suffering on the inside. Who do you turn to when you have so many people looking up to you. Nobody knows his life. I grew up in San Diego playing football against him. Always was a cool and real person. I will pray for him and his family.
Junior Seau was a class act. Hopefully his death coming so soon after his retirement will force the NFL to address the severity of the concussion issue, as that is what caused this.
To the people calling J.S. a dick. I don’t think any of you have any idea what those types of blows to the head can do and the long term damage they cause. Seau played in the league for 20 years, think about it.
As a Denver Native/fan we always rooted against him, but he conducted himself with class, he will be missed!
Uh, how the hell do YOU know exactly that “depression caused this?” Do tell, Insider!
People close to him said he was dealing with depression for years. They said he had been struggling with it for some time. It is a known fact he was dealing with depression even more after his playing days were done. Why else would someone who is depressed kill themselves. I also played against him in football back in the pop warner days and against him when we were in high school. I am from San Diego born and raised. Enough info for you.
Only place on earth where people assume people care where you were born and raised.
Anonymous, you sound pathetic and like a real loser in life. Don’t be jealous because nobody cares about you in life.
Nik, do yourself and everyone else a favor and delete the second sentence of your comment above….like a gentlemen.
What a coward. Leaving his mother and children behind. It makes me sick.
I wish you would of got the help you needed junior, I can’t tell you how deeply saddened iam…anyone who choose to take there life is a sad situation. A lot of people loved you and adored you, it’s always the good that die and wicked people live. R.I.P
nobody likes a quitter, junior…..NOBODY….
The man played 4 years of high school football, 4 years of division 1 football, 20 years of NFL football. Use your head and think in the begging of his career players were encourage especially linebackers to use their heads and wrap arms to tackle. Also look at his pictures of his body as a rookie and look
At him now . No forty year old man has that body w/o steroids
And human growth hormone well guess what football is over
Steroids
are stopped. Body production of hormones is stopped
Depression sets in.
STEROIDS WILL DO THAT TO YA.
Did he not drive off a cliff a few months back? Too bad he screwed that up. No more domestic violence. Selfish jerk. I suffer from depression but in my worst state of mind i realize how people in my life would suffer if I did myself in.
Yea Haha. No one will talk about that though.
me too…I feel for him tho
That’s what happens when you get your ass kissed ever
Since you were a star in college. Most people cannot remember
Who won the super bowl 3 years ago. and that young girlfriend
Could care less about him. Everyone knows unless you got money old middle age men are invisible to young girls. No fool
Like an old fool. Guess he won’t be at the hall of fame bash.
Actually I know that ‘young girlfriend’ and she is in pieces right now so have some damn compassion.
Why try to explain things to idiots. It just sounds like the person in the above comment is jealous of what Junior Seau had. Possibly even bitter that they never achieved that level in life or even came close.
Of course she’s in pieces…..HER MEAL TICKET JUST OFFED HIMSELF!!!
To all of you who are spewing negativity on this post; I pray that god gives you the ability to see beyond your own pettiness. Junior Seau was a beloved member of the San Diego community, not only did he perform amazing acts of charity but he always put a smile on everyones face. It breaks my heart that he thought suicide was the only way out of his pain.
Read Walter paytons biography and see how much of an asshole
That guy was. Read the part about how he was drugged up and
Shot one of his employees. Then fired him immature hero and false idol worship. Look at steve Gleason retire new Orleans
Saints who is suffering with ALS. Him and his lovely wife just had a baby and with him suffering with ALS. You don’t hear him
Crying boo hoo I want to kill myself now that’s a real man
He just was not as good of a football player as that idiot junior.
You just rambles one about nothing. You sound bittter.
Walter Payton and Steve Gleason are two totally different people from Junior Seau. If there’s anybody here who’s an idiot, it’s you, you f*cking coward.
Eh…one less brotha, worlds a better place.
he’s been trying to kill himself since 2010 when he went over the cliff with his truck after beating up his ex wife. punk way to go out
this guy might have died due to brain injuries, but Nik kinda likes when they play football super rough, as in the bounty program.
win or die trying right? hmmmmm…. its a risky sport but maybe we should look into the mental problems and repeated blunt force trauma. just sayin’.
POST: Jonathan Vilma Should Be Banned From The NFL
“I think this ruling on Vilma is uncalled for… remember when we use to watch Football??? The whole point of this game is to hurt your opponent. Win or die trying. To make a hit hurts the body just as much as making one.- nik”
Junior you were the best! RIP, you will be missed more than you could have ever imagined.
I don’t believe Seau was your biggest supporter, fan, etc. I’m curious if you ever even met him…I highly doubt it.
Jr Seau, most overrated nfl player ever. Made a career out of 1/2 tackles. What happened, Tila tequila wouldn’t answer the phone? Depressed? Drive off a cliff? Now kids are growin up without their dad… Sad…
I have lived in San Diego most of my life, since childhood. I am not a football fan, never have been, never will be. Junior Seau meant a lot more to the community of San Diego then just being a “has been Chargers player”. Junior Seau had income from all sorts of sources, including his clothing line and his restaurant which I have dined at many times and enjoy immensely. He had a television show watched by people around the globe, many of whom knew him from his television show and not his San Diego Chargers career.
Even though he was constantly making money, he was constantly giving back to the community as well through the Junior Seau Foundation. It was a foundation that thrived on values and empowering young people, raising child abuse awareness, preventing juvenile delinquency, and raising youth drug and alcohol awareness. There are many young people who were touched by Junior Seau and what they thought that he stood for.
Everyone saw that “Junior Seau”. Only those living in San Diego saw the other side of Junior Seau. The side of a man with a temper who has trouble controlling his anger. Everyone looked the other way because it was Junior Seau. The side of a man with a drinking problem. Everyone said it’s just a few drinks and he’s Junior Seau and turned the other way. He showed up at his restaurant many times showing his temper when things weren’t just to his liking. He was arrested for domestic violence, the one time that someone was brave enough to turn him in even though he was Junior Seau. You know if he was arrested once for it, there were dozens of times that it occurred that he wasn’t arrested.
This man has been crying out for help for the past 2 years and everyone looked the other way. Drinking, driving under the influence of alcohol, domestic violence, and let us not forget the time that he drove his SUV over the cliff, and it was deemed an “accident” and not a “suicide attempt” because he was Junior Seau. This man obviously has a lot of deep rooted issues that the public never saw, and that even his own family may not have seen. Many of these issues started after his divorce when his wife got custody of the children. It was then that the city of San Diego started to see a new side to Junior Seau, but again, he was Junior Seau so everyone looked the other way.
As for those making claims about depression. Depression is an awful, agonizing thing to live with, and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I am living with bipolar disorder, and though I have contemplated suicide in the past, I never carried it out. I always sought help. I never sought help for myself, I sought it for those I knew I would leave behind.
It is sad that everyone paid attention to Junior Seau’s accomplishments, fan fare, and money and didn’t pay attention to who he was as a man. This was predictable with his behavior over the last couple of years (since 2010 in particular). Everyone asking why now is foolish. Everyone trying to link this as some kind of mental disorder related to playing football is foolish. This was depression, brought on by high expectations of an individual who couldn’t live up to perfectionist standards and the pedestal that the public placed him on, and who suffered depression because of it, nothing more and nothing less.
Will his family miss him? Yes! Will the community of San Diego miss him? Yes! Will his kids miss him? Yes! Will I personally miss him? No! He’s been putting on a great “front” for a lot of years, showing up in churches and in schools but not practicing what he was “preaching” to young people. Anyone like that is a role model that the kids in this community don’t need. They need someone who not only talks the talk but also walks the walk, not just when in the public eye.
Shut up, you don’t speak for “the community of San Diego”. He was a douche and people are blowing any little charitable thing he did for the community out of proportion. With a tax write off it’s basically just like free good publicity. How is he a role model? Glorifying suicide to kids, showing them it’s a way for them to not only tell everyone they’re “suffering” but also get a lot of attention, maybe even glory.
drug problem or deep depression issue. money can’t buy happiness period. u still have a void to fill. i vote drug problem. rx drugs, opiates for pain from many years of football that got out of control.
the guy was great , thats for sure. his awareness and energy was ridiculous. Anyone who likes a team in the AFC knows
nik you’re big ass head could never fit into a football helmet
Hello, Neat post. There’s a problem with your website in internet explorer, might test this? IE still is the marketplace chief and a large part of other people will omit your wonderful writing due to this problem.
Seau makes the eighth member of the 94′ chargers that played in super bowl xxix to have died.
LB David Griggs died in 95′ after his car hit a pole.
RB Rodney Culver, plane crash in 96′.
LB Doug Miller, lightning strike in 98′.
Center Curtis Whitley OD in 08′.
DE Chris Mims died too in 08′ of an enlarged heart.
DT Shawn Lee from cardiac arrest in 2011.
LB Lew Bush, heart attack also in 2011.
It’s saddening.
Bet he had a bad pain med addiction
im pretty sure he pulled the trigger after seeing how shitty this site actually is..
Players will always get concussions, players will always get
Spinal cord injuries that is football in high school, pop Warner
Division 1,2,3 college football and in any professional play be it here or in the Canadian league. Would anyone watch football
On Monday night if it was the national flag football league.
Almost all the players resort to pain killers, steroids, growth hormone and I don’t blame them. Hardly any of them graduated
College. What are they prepared to do or be in the real world.
Drug testing in the NFL is a joke. Major players never get caught. Terry long of the steppers who was a 5-9 offensive guard on the steelers who was the strongest man in the NFL
Hurts his knee and the team demands a drug test for anabolic steroids he flunks. What did he do after he was released tried to kill himself by drinking rat poison. It’s what it is the owners know it and the player knows it. They know it ever year in rookie camp when they draft some monster out of college with 4-5 speed and a five hundred pound bench press. They do what they do to have another day in the sun. Junior was washed up for the last five years and he knew it. Forced retirement is tough on anyone no matter what job you do. Very easy to see the connection there . After retiring you have to realize the fame is all gone you have to be prepared to be just a regular Joe.
It really is a shame that he didn’t age a little more and he would have seen football was really just a way to make money.
Teamwork is a joke because in the NFL (not for long)ithe circus isn’t gonna be in town forever. They don’t pay people who don’t
Produce. You know when you sign that contract what to expect.
Heard that rumor! Sorry if its false and sorry if its true. Very difficult to lead double life,,,, suicides happen every day in every occupation in this country and around the world… If he did try to kill himself before then the failure is not the NFL, but the fact that he never received or asked for help.. Concussions do not lead to suicide no more then romantic breakups do.
Most ppl deal and move on except for romeo and juliet…. which our society teaches our children as a classical response to lost love. None the less, MUCH MORE MOVIE STARS HAVE TAKEN THEIR OWN LIFE OR HAD MYSTERIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES THAN THE NFL……… DO U WANT ME TO NAME A FEW OR CAN U STOP THE B.S. AND COUNT THEM YOURSELVES… MARILYN MONROE IS TOO EASY, NO MYSTERY TRY THE HOGANS HERO GUY FOUND DEAD IN MOTEL ROOM OR MAYBE THE CARRADINE (GRASSHOPPER, LSD POPPER) HANGING FROM A HOTEL CLOSET ROD, OR GO WITH NATALIE WOOD OR BLAH BLAH BLAH. IF YOU ARE WEAK OR IN TROUBLE OR MENTALLY PRONE THEN U CAN BE A CANDIDATE.. MOST SOLDIERS WHEN FACED WITH ASSURED DEATH WILL FIGHT TO DEATH RATHER THEN DO THEMSELVES IN….
Junior, every football fanatic will miss you ..when you came to New England we all embraced you right away…RIP
Very sad the truth is a good person who helped a lot of people who made a bad decision is dead. “Debt” was to great :’(
I didn’t know he was gay I guess he didn’t want to leave his teammates behind
Why waste the money on study for football players brain injuries
The are never going to change boxing or football. You don’t want to get a brain injury don’t play football. The world can and will go on without the NFL or boxing. Also get rid of car racing
Extreme sports get rid of Evelyn kienevel types. They once asked a man why did you climb mt. Everast to die. He stated no he climbed it to live
If you feel bad about junior killing himself do this to feel better.
Watch the poor souls in the world trade tower hanging out the windows of the upper floors before jumping to their deaths.
Waiting till the fire was breathing down on them jumping just for the extra minutes , seconds of the wonder of life.
Put this shit in perspective.
i never knew seau was a fan of the dirty?? good for him!!

Thought of changin’ my name What’s in a name?
