One word describes this restaurant well: overrated. People come to a restaurant for the food, and you’d think that at $40 a person, you’d get relatively decent food.
My friends and I went to this restaurant due to the reputation that Samba had a wide variety of meat selection. On a Saturday night, Samba apparently has only six types of meat, with one unique type (buffalo). Before we made the reservation, we were told there would be at least 11 types, including ostrich.
This lack of selection would be fine if the food were good. I found the food to be hit-or-miss and mostly miss. The seasoning on most of the meat was uneven, with extremely salty sides or non-seasoned sides. I found the excess salt very unappetizing. I had some decent cuts of meat, but mostly my cuts were very salty. I would not pay more than $20 for this quality, although the quantity was adequate. Also, the salad bar is mediocre at best.
I often hear people rave about the atmosphere at Samba, with the Brazilian dancers and live music. It’s not bad, if you have the choice seating sections. Unfortunately, Samba is divided into two parts that are separated by a small barrier. One part is where you can view the performances well and the servers hang around there; in the other part (where we sat), you can barely see anything, and the servers come infrequently. It just seems like a very bad restaurant design. Without the barrier, everyone could enjoy the live performances and the servers could move around easily.
In addition, the televisions playing the hockey game all around the restaurant reveal an inconsistency with the Brazilian theme and take away from the atmosphere. It’s as if the restaurant designer/owner could not make a decision as to the restaurant’s “personality”.
Other than the waitress, the servers were good. Our waitress came around two or three times in the entire night. Although the men with meat skewers came around less frequently in our area than in the choice area, they were very personable and gave us a lot of meat. They brought the types of meat we wanted whenever we requested them.
Overall, I’d never go to this restaurant again. The food is just not good enough. Oversalted and overrated. The atmosphere is not enough to make a difference.

Wow Sarah has a lot of problems. I am someone who is educated in the psych field and this girl is showing signs of borderline personality disorder. She appears to have suffered from abuse as a child. Her constant I DO WHAT I WANTS, is like listening to a child having a temper tantrum. Her belief that everyone is “falsely accusing” her of being a joke of some sort. She has so many “false accusations” that people are attacking her. She can not, take a step back an see how ridiculous she sounds, speaks to the reason she has nobody in her life. She says she has plenty of friends and loved ones because she will never admit to herself or anyone else that she is alone because of herself. And will blame everyone else for er lonely ness. I hate to burst your educated in the psych field bubble, but I was actually diagnosed with a neurological disorder that I’ve had since birth. The disorder affects how I communicate and how I interact with people socially. That’s all I’m going to tell you because Borderline Personality Disorder is a mental illness. The only mental illness I have is depression, I would know this because I was diagnosed with such by a licensed mental health professional. I don’t know if your concern is real or fake. I did get picked on a lot growing up, but that was because I wasn’t like other kids in my age group, something that I was painfully aware of when I was a kid. I get attacked on my intelligence because I have a learning disability, another thing I was diagnosed with when I was growing up. Ever notice that you do what you want and no one feels the need to pick you apart for dong that? Well, that’s what I went through. So thank you for trying to diagnose me when I have no idea if you’re even certified to do so or not. Why are you doing that? With all due respect Candice, I was never even diagnosed with having a severe personality disorder. Hell I never even had severe psychotic tendencies, if I ever did, I’d likely look it up to see what it may or may not mean as far as a diagnosis goes and get the hell over to a licensed therapist. My inability to socialize stems from a neurological disorder that affects my effectiveness at communicating with others, something I actually was diagnosed with having by a doctor. I appreciate your concern though, Candice, and thank you for showing some compassion.
