Boy Scout Kicked Out Of Organization For Being Gay
THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik did you hear about Eric Jones, a 19 y/o prominent and committed member of the Boy Scouts of America. He was kicked out on Sunday afternoon solely because he came out as a homosexual to the director of the organization’s annual Summer Camp in Missouri. Not only was he immediately removed from the camp because of their anti-gay policy, but the entire “process” has been caught on camera and will be used in Ryan James Yezak’s upcoming documentary entitled, “Second Class Citizens”, an all-encompassing look at discrimination based on sexual orientation here in the United States. The BSA specifically states in their policy that they do not grant membership to individuals who are open or avowed homosexuals.
I feel bad for Eric Jones. Sorry, but Boy Scouts of America needs to update their rule book. This is 2012, everyone is gay because of the economy.- nik

Wake up people.. It’s amazing and disgusting to me that 50 years after the Civil Rights struggle in the U.S., we’re still fighting over who is deserving of equal rights under the law. Other people’s religions should not dictate United State law in this or any other matter. If two adults, who happen to be of the same gender, wish to marry each other, what possible difference does it make to anyone else? .the current concept of marriage is outdated and very discriminatory. If we recognize common law marriage, or any form of marriage, outside of the established religions, then we need to legalize gay marriage. The concept of marriage being between a man and a woman is a religious one and, even then, many faiths do not require a formalized ceremony to recognize a marriage. Historically, the legal concept of marriage was more for alliances than anything else. Today, we need to change the definition to reflect changing values, and to ensure that every member of society has the same rights as another member.
Is there another side to this story? If he truly had been in the scouts for 10 years he should of known their rules. What did he expect? To change them with his announcement? The guy is a retard. He can join another group that accepts his lifestyle or start his own group that caters to a more accepting standard.
Totally agree. I’m tired of people’s agenda. Why was it necessary to even bring up his sexual orientation. Boy Scouts is not about sex or what you are doing behind closed doors. I feel the same way if there was an overly vocal person about being heterosexual. If you feel the need to express your sexual preference in the BOY Scouts of America then you have no business being apart of that group. Straight or Gay.

Might I also add… Our country is supposed to have church and state separate. (The separation of church and state is the distance in the relationship between organized religion and the nation state.)

People should be allowed to live by the morals they believe in. Fact is some people do not accept the lifestyle just as they dont accept an alcoholic or drug addicted lifestyle. To some people it is simply not morally acceptable, are these people not free to believe what they want? Should people be forced to live against their religion so others dont feel offended? I thought this was a free country. Something tells me he was aware of the policy when he decided to join. 2012 nothing nik, in other countries its actually against the law to be a known homosexual. People act as though theyre being beaten in the streets.

boys 6-18 engaging in close/personal and overnight activities do not need to know about the sexual preferences of the other boys, especially if it is the opposite of nature for that gender- thats not discriminatory/insensitive its just the laws of nature, cause if women and men aren’t supposed to be attracted/meant for one another we’d be extinct long ago, were not asexual beings- either way not knowing the other members sexual preference is a safety precaution, if anything it protects homosexuals from discrimination, physical/mental bullying, and more

there are very few animals other than humans that engage in homosexual relations and only a few other species engage in sex for pleasure its so rare and unnatural that when it does occur scientists document it(in most cases when animals do perform homosexual act its to show dominance/being aggressive and having power over the rest)–animals engage in sex for procreation and because its a natural instinct, you can try to refute this all you want but what for you know your wrong and rare/minor occurances aren’t the same as ‘all through out nature’….also before you go on defence/attack mode i have not once ‘bashed’ or ‘hated’ on homosexuality or homosexual persons rather i am not afraid to call it what it is, unnatural/not the norm i even went so far as to explain why it is for those to impatient/ignorant to think with reason, just read what i wrote twice think about the terminology and anyone that still thinks this is hateful/ignorant towards homosexuality and homosexuals is just looking for a reason to argue and or be negative/hurt(woe is me ) feeling

I work at a boy scout camp as well, and went to S-F for many years. It’s the rules, and no one agrees with them, it’s like that dumb thing at work that everyone hates, but a scout is reverent, so following the rules of the church they made the anti-gay rule. It actually made it to where they wouldn’t use Fort A.P Hill for Jamboree anymore
