NCAA President Mark Emmert Will Not Rule Out Death Penalty For Penn State Football Program
THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik, new information and evidence revealed in the Freeh Report show that Penn State administrators had multiple opportunities to put a stop to Jerry Sandusky’s sexual abuse on and around campus. Their inaction for more than a decade could result in NCAA action against the school, and President Mark Emmert is not willing to take any possible punishments off the table at this point.

Shut the football program down for atleast one year! Need to send a message. What they did was cover up the most henious thing a person could do;take away a childs youth and scar him/her for life!
so punish a group of students who had nothing to do with the actions of the people in charge? Sandusky will never see the light of day, Joe Paterno is dead, school administration has been delt with, what more can be asked? How does shutting down the program help the families of the kids that where abused? Stone Sandusky to death and let the kids throw the rocks!
This is not a Penn State football issue. Why punish the players? The Freeh report did not provide any evidence that Joe Paterno knew anything.
I THINK ITS SO SERIOUS WHAT CAME TO LIGHT; school officals including Joe did not do what was right to stop this sex abuse while or years after they knew it was happening. Therefore, the school and football need to be held accountable to show they are at fault and that our childrens well being is MORE impoartant that football. And yes, I very sorry for the football players with this will cause them…some great career detriment.
Ive been saying a ten year minimum to everyone. y’all do realize when smu was given the death penalty, all players were allowed to go to another school without penalty. Quit trying to use the student excuse to not get rid of the VERY THING that caused this whole thing to get as out of hand as it was. Penn state football or joe Paterno football was the integral component in keeping this whole thing hidden. The sadistic old man was more concerned with a program and school than the welfare of children. Joe Paterno’s name and face should be removed from everything at penn state because he a walking hypocrisy of the worst possible kind. He created a cult that clouded the judgement of several senior officials.
Besides look at it this way, if Reggie bush can be removed from USC lore because he took cars and money, not to mention having to give his heisman, and SMU can get the death penalty for an all to common pay-for-play scandal due to a lack of institutional control. How can Penn State not be deserving (plus more) of that punishment. Again, keep in mind the NCAA will not let students take the brunt of this situation due to its unprecedented nature.
If they let this thing go unjustly punished, it proves that the thing Paterno built and Sandusky dangled like candy to little boys really is more important than the well being of the most innocent and helpless of victims.
