THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik, I read the post about Ryan Sheckler the other day and I totally disagree with that San Clemente father. If Ryan does drugs that’s on him. Parents its not the role models our kids worship in the skate world, it’s these damn Skate Parks that promote violence. Nik check out this video, this is a true Skate Park hate crime. These parks teach our children to do drugs and fight each other. As a father I see the root of the evil.

Skating develops kids cordination. Let’s see you guys that are more concerned with your hair than actually engaging in a sport that works every muscle in your body. This is an individual activity where when you screw up in a comp you cannot blame your team, only yourself. I skated since the first grade and made Thrasher by the third grade. I did this on skill alone, and not a team backing me. Yes, skaters can start drugs earlier than most, and get into fights but you have no clue what the motivation is. Do not trash skating or boarding, these guys might not look like it but they excell in math and physics just like pianists do. These are your next wave of engineers or junkies pending on their upbringing.

As a former skateboarder I will admit the youth we got now a days are pussies. Cant stand up for themselves. These skaters aint shit if you catch them slipping alone, but when their around the “homies” suddenly their bad ass. cant fight, no skills, use loud tone voice and their skateboards to intimidate their opponent. Glad I got away from this scene. Never realized how ridiculous the scene has gotten and how pathetic a large group looks by ganging up on 1 guy especially a cheap shot
I’ve seen plenty of fights at skate parks, if you aren’t at a park, everyday of your life, you don’t understand what causes this behavior. I saw a 20 year old check a 17 year old, today. After a while, the 17 year old got frustrated, and flipped out. 20 year old dude got his 20 year old friends, and all ganged up on one guy. who was 17. it turned into a 1on1 verbal disagreement, into a 6 on 6 fist fight. It’s not just one person going up to someone and hitting someone for no reason, everything that happens is instigated. and To all you who say skaters are “pussies for hitting with there boards,” I’ve seen almost every skater i know, fight with there fist. Maybe these kids were pussies, not all of them though. So quick to judge.
