Honestly, this looks like the cops are completely overreacting. First of all, it’s Manhattan, the traffic sucks. There is no way he was going to be able to make a run for it even if he wanted to. Second, the cop totally put his foot there on purpose. Sounds to me like these cops just wanted their few seconds of fame on a youtube video. Big deal, popos.

The cop did not “put his foot there on purpose.” He stepped in front of the vehicle to stop the prick from leaving the scene before the ticket could be issued. Rich snob got what he deserved.
Look closer. He stuck his foot under the tire and then pulled it out in time to NOT be run over.

Anyway, I worked at the Mercer & if a car gets ticketed in that spot, it is because the driver didn’t tip the doormen. The car is in the loading zone & from what I gather, they had parked there to have lunch or meet people & didn’t give one of the doormen $20 to park in the loading zone. They would’ve put a “Mercer Guest” sign on the car & the police would ignore it. But the guy didn’t tip them & them flagged the cop car as it drove by & asked them to ticket it. On the weekends, those doormen made hundreds selling spots in front of the hotel.
