I understand your statement because you may be a good father. But you have to admit that you may only be the minority. Its hard to find good fathers who would make an effort to actually “hands on” raise their children instead of just being around them. Spoon feeding babies, changing diapers, bathing them multiple times a day.. You wonder why there are very little “single fathers”.
So Adams lover, here’s a message to you, avoid the heart break because he may not even be the person you believe he could be. You may think he may do the right thing. But people will always put themselves before anyone else. Avoid the potential heart break and work hard in providing for your own. You don’t need a man. You can search for the perfect father figure for your child later.
Miss Swan, you are an idiot. Good loving fathers are essential to healthy child development, and a good loving Mother is as well. Children need both parents, and both parents need to be devoted to their kids. Children do grow up in single-parent families, there are those who thrive, but it shouldn’t be considered normal or okay. If you are having a hard time finding men who want to take care of your kids, if the person your sleeping with is not an “ideal father figure”, maybe you should NOT BE SLEEPING WITH HIM AND MAKING BABIES WITH PEOPLE WHO DONT WANT BABIES IN THE FIRST PLACE. Having a father is the most important factor in determining a child’s social development. People who grow up without a father are more likely to drop out, be unemployed, addicted to drugs or alcohol, be homeless or be in jail.
Kids who are raised solely by their father on average end up better than kids that are solely raised by their mother. If you look at the majority of our social problems these days (especially in the black community) most of it can be traced to a lack of fathers in the family.
Do yourself a favor and get an abortion. Don’t ruin your life over this small mistake. Don’t let these Pro-Life advocates push you into the wrong direction, this isn’t 1960 anymore. You made a mistake, at least you can fix it.

Okay, made some valid points until you said that hurting the fetus is “literally” like hurting a three month old. Do you know what literally means? Also, it is great to love your child and motherhood but your baby shouldn’t be your only source of joy. A good father in a child’s life is ESSENTIAL. Yes, children can and will survive without one, but what’s the point of bringing a child into this world and NOT giving them EVERY possible chance to excel.
Suppose “Adam” comes around, and wants nothing to do with this girl, how do you think she is going to feel when she has to give up her bundle of joy every other weekend to be raised by “Adam’s” family, or NEW girlfriend? Maybe Adam won’t see this little baby as a “bundle of joy” and treat the child as such.

I am also a mother, happily married but can’t help to see my single mother friends and their child co through the heart break of irresponsible dead beat dads that only wanna party Or just don’t love their wives anymore. Yeah, its my friends fault too including her ex man, take two to tango, but if one doesn’t even want to be there, then you only have yourself and your own kids, to care for. Better to have your self then to have someone who will drag the whole family down.

Having a father is not pointless. However, growing up without one, I have never done drugs,I’ve been in a committed relationship for 6 years, haven’t been to jail and I’m about to graduate college. I know there are many fatherless children who do fall off but if this woman doesn’t have an abortion and raises it without a father it is still 100% possible for the child to grow up completely normal. Why does it seem that people only see their options as being 1. Aborting or 2. Keeping the child? Why not consider adoption. There are so many people who are passionately wishing that they had a child.

Have you considered the likelihood of having a child with a birth defect, genetic disorder or a whole host of psychological problems /mental issues, inherited diseases/ syndromes/ developmental issues that stem from not knowing a thing about the sperm donor? Love for this unborn baby is NOT enough. Don’t be so selfish that you completely destroy 3 lives. Please give this child up for adoption if you insist on carrying it. Do not try to be noble This child is not the product of “love”. Not a love child, just a big time mistake that you can turn around by giving the gift of adoption to a worthy couple who can provide a stable environment and give the child a fighting chance in this complicated world.
