THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik, isn’t it funny how politics work? A few weeks back you had Romney talking about cutting FEMA and how states should take care of themselves. And now that Hurricane Sandy came and did its damage and FEMA is out there helping the East Coast, Romney refuses to answer any questions regarding it. I definitely thing that Obama will be re-elected simply based on the face Hurricane Sandy came through.
I agree that Hurricane Sandy should be called Hurricane Obama. This is FEMA’s opportunity to prove itself to America, the real question is… will FEMA help those in need months down the road when citizens need it most? Helping for the cameras (Red Cross style) is great, but what happens when the cameras are gone?- nik

Hurricane Sandy was punishment to New York for voting Obama in the last election. New York citizens had better be careful who they vote for this time.

Man made “Climate change” is a hoax!!! Its just a nature cycle of our planet…look at history, 1955-56 there were 6 hurricanes that all hit the same states, this is nothing new!!!
Well put, Alan. This is probably the worst storm people have seen in their lifetime time. So, many conclude, “Wow, this must be climate change.”. However, a human lifetime is a mere blip in the history of the earth. There have been storms just as bad or worse in the Northeast, but they occur infrequently, and many occurred before the invention of the internal combustion engine. Folks, Earth’s climate has been constantly changing the past 4.54 billion years. To think that man has anything to do with that is just folly.
President Obama saved million of lives by having food water and gas for New York and Jersey, everyone is safe and happy. No President has ever been there for the people like Obama. The Country is in better shape financially then ever before with more jobs and people have more money. The rest of the world loves us and we have never been more respected. The military is the best ever under Obama. We need 4 more years of the greatest president ever. I am finally proud to be an African-American because of Obama.

1. less crime
2. less rape
3. less gang violence
4. less government spending on welfare
5. stronger and more diligent workforce
6. less cracker jack preachers, therefore less joe tabernacle baptist churches
7. a stronger economy
8. the right kind of healthcare program
9. a lower population due to a lower rate of rape and government handouts to black women in the ghetto that keep having kids to gain more support from the Gov.

FEMA’s response is looking pretty inept right now. That shouldn’t be the case. Climatologists saw this coming a week before it hit. FEMA should have been better prepared. This may turn into Obama’s Katrina. Romney made a good point by suggesting states should handle such matters because when the fed takes something over, the state and local governments tend to look to the fed to take care of it. And the fed invariably turns out to be incompetent.
Also, FEMA has only been around since 1979. How is it that everyone was able to recover from disasters before that?
Mayor Bloomberg endorsed Obama precisely because Obama, like Bloomberg, believes in climate change (remember when it was called global warming?). Well then, Bloomberg should have known a storm like this was very likely to hit. Why, then, was he not better prepared? Why has he allowed the citizens of his city to suffer as they have? Back in 2007, we had two days of winds reaching 150+ mph, sustained a LOT of serious damage, and FEMA helped NO ONE! then ran off to an adjacent county because they were flooding…oh really? THEY FLOOD EVERY YEAR! You give them money, they rebuild in the same place, then act shocked when they flood again the next year! (and again, FEMA pays them again…)
