Where Do I Go From Here

THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik, I have been a Dirty fan for quite some time. A couple years ago I was at a low and wrote to you for advice. I ended up not following what you said and you told me I was a “lost cause”. I went about my life with a slightly bruised ego for quite some time, not understanding your answer or the negative response readers posted. Last year I almost died in a car accident. Three months of bed rest gave me a lot of time to think about life. I left my loser boyfriend of 3 years (the accident was his fault and he barely saw me after), my friends had forgotten me, and I was depending on my parents for every aspect fo life since I had a broken femur. This is when your response made sense. Living life anything less than to its fullest is a waste of my time. We are all blessed and need to stop focusing on the negative. As of now I bartend, go to school full time, I am single, 21, and attractive. My question is where do I go from here? I feel like I am at a turning point. I want to transfer to a different college and live in a flourishing city. I was wondering if you had any advice for me since I am no longer a lost cause!?
San Diego.- nik

Instead of San Diego how about Zihuatanejo
You smell that? It is the stench of low self esteem, she will be some lucky guys emotionally abusive punching bag soon…
I’m a young lady in San Diego and I agree with Nik. Great city, great vibes.
NOOO! Not SD! She’ll end up on a boat getting pooped on for money..
Until she can make decisions for herself she’s going to be an awesome pump and dump for San Diegans! See you at the Andaz! I’ll be the guy with the deep V and tribal tats that at first you dont like but for some reason are irresistably attracted to on a sexual level.
ugh san diego!!?! thats the WORSE place to be! californians are baseless idiots, who know nothing about the rest of the country!! san diego is one of those lonely ‘metropolitan’ cities..ugh why would you want to go there? move to the east coast! close to nyc, close to philly…plenty of good towns here WITH GOOD PEOPLE! beautiful towns that change seasons! people who have depth and soul to them, NOT the lonely san diego verge of mexico people!!!
Apparently you’ve never lived in Ca
I agree that California is totally different from any other state, but I say this in a GOOD way. I visited my sister in San Diego. When I got off the plane I didn’t want to go back home. If I could have stayed right there, I totally would have.
I could do without the season changes. I like Autumn, but for the most part I like it in the 70′s.
I think that was the BEST part of California. Getting off a plane from Michigan in February, and stepping into THAT beautiful weather. And stepping into the ocean was amazing. I went running in, got to my ankles and hauled ass out, it was quite cold then!
I can’t wait to go back and visit more of California. My sister wasn’t much for doing touristy type things…booring. She made me go to Tijuana, but refused the Zoo.
Eff that man
baby boo boo is an idiot and I take offense to everything she just said about my hometown. Im curious where would she move to thats nice and close to nyc? Newark? the capital of murder? or How about Camden thats close to philly except their murder rate rivals Newark. Sorry the east coast is not that great a place to start over. Especially near NYC or Philly. Plus the poster is from Rochestor NY if she wants a change how is staying in the same area going to help? Although I do agree San Diego might not be the best place to start over. I personally think somewhere in the Midwest would be a better fit. The people are generally nicer, with better values and willing to help. San Diego is awesome but I don’t think its as welcoming as other cities. Plus the local economy sucks, job market is terrible. And SD universities are not very impressive. Unless she has a built in support system and a decent job, coming to San Diego with no plan is not a good idea. Good luck!
MJD, yeah, UCSD and USD are horrible schools! Who in their right mind would ever want to study at a top 50 school in San Diego? Nevermind the fact that the JC’s in California are the cheapest (by a large margin) in the Nation. We all know how much that sucks for prospective students as well. So, I’m with you. Poster, go to the Midwest. Maybe Nebraska. The towns there are polluted with higher education. Schools that blow the lousy ones in SD out of the water.
I never said the schools were horrible I said not that impressive, try getting a job in finance with a degree from USD or SDSU..not an easy task. FYI U. Chicago, N. Western, Notre Dame, U Indiana, all in mid west and rank in top 15 of nearly every category that colleges are ranked. Why are the cost of JC’s relevant to where she should move to? If she is already in her 2nd year why go back to a JC?
They dont refer to it as “Man Diego” for nothin….
J.K., SD is nice year round.
i agree with baby boo and I’ve lived in San Diego all my life. it’s like groundhogs day here..shallow people and douche bags galore. other cities that are actually metropolitan cities have it going on. just sayin’! I have plans on leaving.
Dear OP,
I cannot agree more with Nik. I was kicked out of college at 18 for drug possession and then spent about a year and a half waiting tables trying to figure out what to do with my life. I moved to SD three years ago this month with the intention to go back to school and I have to say that move was the /best decision/ of my life. There are many high quality schools to pick from (SDSU, UCSD, USD, Mesa/Miramar/City) based on what you may prefer, the people here are laid back and attractive, and it is the cleanest, safest city I have ever lived in. I am a year away from graduation and I know living in SD played a big role in my success. Go for it!
Nik has is right, nothing beats being single and living in PB!
Nik was joking!! He left there for a reason.. Bunch of hoes, D-bags and drama!!
Nik was Joking.. he left there himself cause of all the hoes, d-bags and drama, lol!!
