Roofer according to WCB everyone on a construction site must wear steel toe and shank foot protection. You obviously never worked on a real site if you ever got out of your moms basement to work at all
Only if you are working on the ground.The Roof is not considered the ground. WCB has been by to lots of my (real job sites) and has not questioned a roofer about steel toes. Labourer is different Hard Hat Steel Toes and safety vests.

My husband been a roofer for 10years and i always bring them coffee and lunch not one out of the 8 years weve been married have a i ever seen one of his crew member where steal toes. Get your facts stright dumb ass, all roofers wear runners make the job get done faster and its easier to bend down to smash thing out etc.
