THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik, I need your help. I’ve started seeing this funny, sweet, handsome guy and I like him a lot. He acts how a man should… most of the time. About 2 weeks after we started seeing each other though I found out he brought another girl home but they didn’t sleep together. When I confronted him, he said he was sorry but he didn’t know where it was going with me and he didn’t think he was doing anything wrong because we weren’t together. He told the other girl the same thing and then said he didn’t think it was fair that he should only have to sleep with one girl at a time if he’s not in a relationship. After talking for a while about it, he asked if I would forgive him and if we could be exclusive. So I did and he stopped talking to the other girl completely. It’s been a couple months but I’m still wondering if I should believe him when he says he’ll never cheat. Nik whats a girl to do in this situation?? Let it get serious or leave him?

If it were me, and I was really into a girl, I wouldn’t be bringing other girls home at all, even if things were not exclusive yet…. But that’s just me.
Technically this guy hasn’t done anything wrong, and treating him as though he has will lead to him doing something. If you’re going to be punished for a crime you didn’t commit, you may as well get the satisfaction of committing said crime.
Have to agree with Nik here, the way you treat him will definitely determine if he is loyal to you. If you can’t trust him (or someone else for that matter) then your relationship(s) are doomed to fail.

I just experienced a similar story except the man I dated did sleep with the “friend” girl a few times… Once I found out he did admit to it, and say he wanted to move on exclusively with me. Cutting her out… Do I let it get serious or move on?

I’ve had girlfriends ask me this before, and I always say the same thing. You aren’t exclusive, why should he put all his eggs in one basket if he doesn’t know if you’re worth sticking around for? They look at me like I am insane. All you can do is protect yourself (from STD’s) and let things play out. But don’t act like you own the guy. Same thing happened with my now husband. Obviously it kind of hurts, but you have to put things in perspective. He turned out to be the most amazing, loyal, sweet and thoughtful husband. Just chill.
