I swear, I look into this childs eyes and all I see is fear. I get it, he is a pro skateboarder but that doesn’t mean you can fly around skating and making your daughter feel so scared.

Nik’s way of thinking is completely outdated. I did grow up “old fashioned” so I know what he is trying to “preach”, but come on! As a mom myself … Nik seriously needs to learn how to lighten up. Who knew I would be saying this to my ‘elder’. All I see in this picture is father/daughter bonding time. Looks like she is having fun. But also a great way to cause nursemaid’s elbow. Easy to fix but horribly painful for the child. Swinging children by the arms allows for the radial head to sublux from the elbow joint.

apparently the posters childhood was spent in a safe air tight bubble. There father never swung them around or threw them into the air, let him drive a go cart, swing on a rope swing, play at the playground…
I also follow tony hawk on instagram (which is where this was taken from) and he said in the caption that shes learning to skateboard on her own so he probably won’t have to do this much longer.
Being the daughter of a skateboarding ledgend, I’m willing to bet this isn’t the first time shes done this. Besides, shes clearly smiling…hell, that looks fun to me too.

Poster, you must be one of those parents that bubble wraps your kids and doesn’t ever allow them to play independently or ever be out of your sight.
