How Can I Help My Drug Addicted Friend Autumn Berlin
THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik, this is my friend Autumn Berlin. She smokes crack and shoots up heroin. AND she’s only 19!!! She got arrested a couple weeks ago for prostitution… and now she’s out and about and doing her same old crap. I don’t know what to do to help my friend out. She is slowly killing herself and ruining her life. Is there any hope since she is still so young?

you cant help her. i learned that the hard way. i had to see my ex in a casket at the age of 28. it haunts me till this day wondering what i could have done to save him from his addiction. and the truth is that there is nothing more you can do than pray and ask God for healing for this person. sorry.

No one can help her but herself , i know im a recovering addict clean for 4 yrs off crack …heroin well thats an evill mothafucker on its own. To the person that wrote this, if all of this is true than yes, she still has hope. There are people out there that are older than her that have beat their addictions. If they can, she can. She just has to want too.
I feel you need to give this girl tough love. Talk to her family and her other friends. Find a way to seperate her from her friends that are horrible peers for her. If anybody is financially helping her, they need to cut her off. Everyone that knows her and loves her needs to also cut her off completely so she realizes that with drugs, she’ll be all alone.
The important thing though is in the process of doing that, you let her know that it is for her own good and that she needs to learn that if she continues to do drugs, she will lose everything and she has to decide if it’s worth it or not.
I hope she gets help soon. She’s already looking a little rough physical wise. She needs to stop before those drugs take away her youth completely.

She will not change if she is not ready. Alot of addicts seek help getting clean because that’s what everyone else wants for them, she needs to want it for herself, that’s when she’ll change. She can goto rehab 37 times because she was made, court ordered or talked into it, but if she doesn’t go because she wants to and only she wants to its pointless. Try to get her to realize how much easier life was, how much less chaotic, less trouble, less horrible people and just how much happier she was before the sickness. It takes awhile, but someday she will see that again, tho it might be 20 years from now or after its too late, but it can and will.
I know from personal experience trying to get off that H is the hardest, most miserable thing u can go thru & once a person gets to the point their going as far as H usually let it drag u thru ur own personal HELL at rock bottom b4 u attempt to change. Past the point of it just being hi in lala land u and u REALIZE its destroying ur life & if ur friend is selling her body hopefully she will hit her bottom soon nobody ‘wants’ to do that. I hope she gets the help she needs & wakes up sooner rather than later, just don’t give up on her. Good luck!
