Medical Marijuana In Arizona
THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik, here in AZ we finally have medical marijuana. As a smoker, I love the system and how I can just go walk into a doctor, make up a bs story about not being able to sleep and having anxiety… and boom, I get my card that allows me to carry pot and not get in trouble. I’m looking forward to not having to deal with shady drug dealers and can actually get my pot in peace and know that it is 100% legit. What are your thoughts on AZ and medical marijuana?

Actually, Alan marijuana has many medical uses and in some cases can completely erase a persons dependency on harmful pharmacuticals. While it is true that most people seeking a medical marijuana card are doing so to be able to legally possess and use weed for its recreational effects there are lots of patients out there that have had there lives changed by being able to treat debillitating illnesses with something that doesnt come with a page of side effects and extra prescriptions to treat those. There are even children being treated for terrible illnesses like lukemia and epilepsy with medical marijuana! Please before you write off these states creating a true medical miracle for those in need check out how many uses marijuana has for people that have no interest in getting stoned.

Poster – you are retarded. No doctor in their right mind would ever prescribe you marijuana for anxiety or insomnia. Medical marijuana is for severe pain, either from migraines, glaucoma, or the effects of harsh medications for cancer or aids. You have to have proof of these ailments in your medical history for at least two years along with their designated prescriptions.

This poster is an idiot! First of all there is a list of af ailments that you can have in order to get a card and mental issues are not on there. Also if you are in “pain” You have to have significant doctor documented history in order to get a card. It will not be as easy as walking into a place and saying you have anxiety and them handing you pounds of pot. You’re dumb.
It’s easy to fake that you are in pain and get a prescription for anything, I do it all the time. What one doctor won’t do another one will.
Just because the state legalizes it, you gotta remember that it is still against FEDERAL law, which is what the states of Colorado and Washington are facing right now. They legalized it for recreational use in adults 21+, but, it comes with stipulations. It is to be regulated much like alcohol, but unlike alcohol, THC stays in your system longer, though basically inactive, but, even a tiny amount, should an asshole cop choose to test you for any random reason, and you can get popped for a DUI. I bet we see a surge in DUIs for pot use, because cops just gotta be assholes, and I haven’t heard much better about Arizona cops, esp. Phoenix/Mesa!

I got a pot DUI from a Mesa officer. I smoked the day before but it was still in my blood so they considered me high even though I wasn’t. I quit smoking because of this rule. But I still need an ignition interlock even though there was no alcohol in my system. AZ laws need some common sense.
I live in Denver where it’s legal and the last thing you should say to your doctor if you are trying to get a Rx is that you have migraines. They will not prescribe it for headaches and migraines!! Also, don’t mention anxiety, depression, etc., because not all will prescribe for that either. If you are going to make up some fake ailment to get your card, keep it to stomach problems, bodily pain, and insomnia.
Also, I can’t believe Arizona is legalizing MMJ. It is the strictest state when it comes to drug laws, and those pigs HATE pot and will lock you up in a heart beat. This surprises me.

Everyone who has access to the MMJ system abuses it, or will at least try to. Faking having pain is easy, pill addicts do it all the time. Doctors are more happy to give you a prescription after a 30 minute visit.

Heads up for everyone….cops here in Mesa are getting MMJ cards them selves and busting people…..Just because you have a card yourself, doesn’t mean you are protected.
