Make sure you mention that in court. It cant be defamation if you suffered no losses, and earned money and fame from selling your story to news media outlets. Another armchair lawyer. First off, you have no idea what libel is or what the elements are. In order to win a libel case, Sarah Jones’ attorney has to prove that Nik’s statement was false. Secondly, “suffering no loss” is not an element of libel. Jones’ attorney must prove she suffered damages as a result of Nik’s statement. Damages are not limited to dollars and cents. Damages can (and often are) emotional duress. Lastly, they will have to prove that Nik’s statement was made recklessly, without an attempt to find truthfulness. Oh, also, Nik can’t mention anything in court. He can only answer questions asked to him during direct or cross examinations.
