All I can say is that addiction is an evil bastard. I’m reading a book about how a girl in full addiction and her arm started was all messed up from collapsed veins and necrosis, she almost had to have the arms amputated. You’d think that alone would be enough to quit. It just shows you how drug addiction affects others.
One thing is most people are terrified of withdrawal. I’m in recovery myself, and always will be to keep my sobriety intact. Withdrawal isn’t as bad as dying. Anyway its a rough road and making fun of her addiction is jacked up. To get help you wait for weeks for a bed to open up.
What book is it that you’re reading, Allie? I have read quite a few of those myself, I’m reading one right now actually. But I’m always looking for a new read! Being in recovery, much like yourself, reading others tales are cathartic in a way. Thanks, Allie, in advance!

The book is ‘Dying to Survive’ author is Rachael Keough . It really is a good read. Having my kids read it as well. Her arms were super gross. The pic of her on the cover is real. She’d even try to shoot up in her wounds.
