Marie, Ontario by taxi coming from the area of Traverse City, Michigan. Police were contacted to assist customs officers. Investigation revealed that the young person had worked at a hunting camp in the summer of 2012. A relationship grew between the young person, who at the time was 15 years of age and a 35 year old male. An intimate relationship began between the two involving kissing, hugging and oral sex. On their return to their homes contact with the two continued by way of text messaging and the internet. Nude pictures were sent to one another and a meeting set up in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Officers arrested the accused male age 35, on January 23, 2013. The accused stands charged with sexual interference, sexual exploitation, sexual assault and possessing child pornography.

Well done recognizing a suspicious situation and ensuring that follow up occurred, thus foiling this man’s plans to further abuse this child. I for one am appreciative of the vigilant work our Customs Officers do every day. These officers are able to strike a nice balance between being welcoming and non-intimidating with most people crossing into our friendly country, yet they prove time and time again their ability to ‘spot trouble’.
“Pedophiles” Names and Pictures should be made public! I agree SOME TEENS will do as they please, they will listen to NO ONE, but what they want to do. But for every action there is a reaction and a person has to accept the consequences for there action the 35 year old man knew very well this was WRONG thing to do and should have never involved or got involved in this situation.

I live around that street in Ottawa I wondered if they turned their home into a foster home or group home. I will make sure my daughter is holding my hand every day we walk past the house to the bus stop, I am equally concerned for our son they seem to have a lot of young boys outside the home on a regular basis in the summer.

As for the foster home still being open and run by his ex wife, the kids there are happy, wonderful, kind kids. They are well taken care of and loved. They are good kids. The kind of kids any parent should be proud to have, and that is because of where they live and who is raising them.

In speaking with an officer I’ve come to realize there has been a few assaults reported against Greg. And he was still able to carry on working there, these assault(s) were overlooked.

Everything that should been done is being done. The camp is not to blame, Greg is. And no matter how far you think a ridiculous petition will go, the only way the foster home will close is if the caregiver chooses to close it. Greg is gone and the kids are happy and taken care of. Whatever petition you have in mind is irrelevant. They are not a burden to the community and have good relationships with the neighbours. Greg has not been living there or having anything to do with the home or kids for a year and a half.

Let’s use a little example for this next part, Imagine I sub contract the care of a child and place them in a group home, *(Another Business) **There are many of them…
The onus is on the group home to see to it, that they are in good health, going to school every day, provided breakfast, lunch and dinner. Treated well, all basic needs met etc..
The reality is time after time that’s not what happened, the problem is this man was “brain washing” the kids he was around, who knows what conversations were had or what happened, who knows…. nobody knows, so I’d agree saying that this home in particular should be closed.

The fact is the camp did not do the due diligence required to hire camp staff, furthermore to take steps to protect the young girl in question.
In addition I find it highly offencive that just because Greg has not been living there at the group home makes it ok… Another cheeky remark made is that only the caregiver can close the group home…
The reality is that if this “Caregiver“ is anything like Greg, or his wife who obviously saw a lot in him, then the kids are fucked more then likely, I mean that`s a fair statement to say, Greg`s Wife obviously saw sooo much in this man that she did in fact commit to marrying him. So maybe this is a common theme, maybe this caregiver is in cahoots with Greg, maybe the neighbours think he`s a happy go lucky guy….
Obviously Children`s Aid isn`t doing their part to protecting the saftey of these or any children, otherwise they would have intercepted this incident and nipped it in the bud.
Gregs influence on these children, is abuse in itself, so to minimize this instance by saying its not there fault, the camp or the group home is ridiculas. I personally recoqnize this is an isolated incident however that said, accountability must be had for anything to change, and these kids in care are basically used on a regular basis.
When the court (*Subcontracts) the care of a child to a private care agency, they entrust the child will be provided with their evrey basic need, free of emotional, mental and physical abuse, especially that of sexual abuse. That said, theres some doubt in my mind having read all the comments that this man Greg was of his on mind body and soul while employed with this Story Homes Agency on Tutor Road in Ottawa, I am a little concerned yes.
Like his camp counsellor position his facebook is flooded with childrens photographs, guys quickly went to young boys quickly moved on to young girls… A common theme, he posted childrens photos who he was obsessed with, now young girls photos, is it a shock to learn this group home is co-ed now…. Probably not….
Just wanted to throw it out their also found in my interview with one of the boys who resided with Greg, is the fact he installed baby monitors in all their rooms.
He thought he was king shit on a regular basis, he would install his opinion, views, political beliefs and views to each and evrey child who happend to find their way to his group home.
It was more like a prison, having to take a drug test on a regular baisis, when I knew he was still using then, him and his little buddy mark… I knew they were off getting high together…Then getting to see his eyes blood shot reaffirmed he likely wasnt taking a swim.
When things got too heated, I left his care… Soon after all my friends photos who are my age ended up on his facebook, they lived with him but his obvious obsession was creepy; he liked to shift the blame on to others.
The whole thing is ridiculas evrey staff who worked with Greg knew what was going on, just chose to make a decision and ignore it… now they are so shocked with what went on they are backtracking hoping not to be named.
