THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik, what is your opinion on Senator Marco Rubio giving the Republican response to President Obama’s State of the Union tomorrow? He was just on the cover on Time Magazine with the caption, “The Republican Savior,” and is polling to be the party’s nominee for President in 2016 if he decided to run. I find him to be the most articulate person in modern American politics and find his life story inspiring. What are your thoughts on the Senator?

This guy is a republican and latino…..one way to think about is First Black President First Latino President. He also is very conservative and he cares about the people. Wow, you sound so sure of yourself. I am not sure if hillary can win, but she has the “bill” factor. Bill is loved in America and people tend to make the connection that by voting for hillary we are getting another Bill Clinton. Also I am willing to bet that the next pope is going to be Peter Turkson. I believe this because the Roman Catholic Church is desperately trying to distance itself from the rape scandals that have plagued it for the last half century. For some reason, when people look at a creepy old white priest they automatically think “rapist,” and although they aren’t all rapists, I understand the rationalization. I personally believe that stigma doesn’t hold as true with an african american gentleman. This is why it wouldn’t surprise me.

People are stupid. Presidents don’t have much power despite what tabloids lead you to believe. The Congress doesn’t have a lot of power either. Our politicians are paid off by billion-dollar companies and they will do what is profitable for those companies. Stop fantasizing that some Marco will save the world. He won’t. I’m sure he has good intentions but Congress will stomp the life out of him.
