6th Grader Brings Pot Brownies To School
THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik, as a parent here in Newport Beach, I’m very concerned about what happened yesterday at a local elementary school. As you have heard, a 6th grade boy brought weed brownies to class and shared them with 6 students. All 7 of them ended up at Hoag Hospital because they were not feeling good and had a hard time breathing. I don’t blame the kids one bit, I blame the school and the teachers. How could you not notice a few kids eating brownies? We live in California and as we all know it, everyone smokes weed and knows what weed brownies are. I figured these teachers were smarter than that. If this happened at my sons school, you better believe I’d be suing the crap out of them.

But 11 year-olds? It’s possible. There are secondary adverse reactions that are cardiovascular in nature to which adolescents may be intolerant.

Yes, car crashes. However, DUIs are separated into two categories…alcohol and any other type of drugs. No one comes into hospital with “Driving under influence of marijuana” label on their chart. They’re treated like any other druggies.

I REALLY disagree with the OP. It is ONLY the parents fault. Kids bring lunches to school everyday. Teachers cannot check them all. It is the parents who smoke around their kids or have it laying around and that is irresponsible!

Nope, not confused just read it quickly. Saw 6th grade and just registered it as 6 yrs old. I would assume that an 11/12 yr old knew what they were doing and what was in those brownies. All said and done it is the parents fault for leaving them out.

the poster is an absolute idiot. how can you blame the teachers and school staff? these students didn’t bake the brownies in school…where were the parents? when you’re in the 6th grade, you’re what 11, 12? who was supervising these students for the hour or two it took to bake these brownies or when they were buying the weed? so maybe they didn’t even bake them…okay. where were their parents when they were out scoring these brownies? how the hell are the school staff and teachers supposed to differentiate between regular brownies and weed brownies? are they supposed to go up and sniff every pastry and baked good that’s being eaten by a student? blaming the staff of the school is such a cop out; before pointing fingers, examine the way you’re raising your own children and if your child is eating weed brownies at the age of 11, you only have yourself to blame…if they don’t know how to properly spell environment, then you can split the blame with their teacher.

this exact thing happend in my school when i was in 6th grade, the kids made and brought the brownies to school and even gave one to a teacher, kind of funny and harmless really

i live in illinois, a kid brought in weed brownies and feed them to the entire class plus the teacher after doing a demostration speech on how to make brownies for his speech class.
