THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik, I’m in sort of a moral dilemma, and really could use your advice. I am a decently attractive, self sufficient 21 year old. I get by on my own, but by no means live some life of luxury. Last weekend I met a guy who works for an airline company and along with making very very good money, gets unlimited flight benefits (ie. free flights anywhere anytime). He has an ok personality-but I have 0 physical attraction for this guy. I’m not looking to settle down-and he definitely is. He is Already totally head over heels for me-wanting to take me on all of these great trips and such. Should I just ignore the fact that I would need to close my eyes while we f*ck? Or should I tell him how I feel?
It all depends if you want Instagram followers or not. If you travel all over and take cool pictures you will make a ton of fake social media friends which will intern boost your ego and confidence. BUT if you have any soul whatsoever, you will tell him how you feel and move on with life the moral way.- nik

yes take a ride, and find out what your heart already knows in there is no attraction. but you can feel the agony of being stuck together without that ability to go home from a location far away. it will make the entire experience that much more nausiating
How about go to dinner with him in your town, see if you like his personality. Its not all about physical attraction only epecially in 15 years when your body is sagging and you have shit out two kids
I had to laugh at how she used decently attractive to describe herself. That means she is a 5 at best and the guy who is showing interests in her, thinks that is the best he can get with his looks. Now she is in a position to be the one who can be picky, when normally it is the other way around in her case. When guys are with her, they are the ones who have to close their eyes to have sex with her or be drunk off their asses. She is lucky that a guy is even paying this much attention to her in the first place. Five years down the line she is going to wish she kept this guy in her life, because she will finally realize that he was the best guy she could get later in life.

I work for AA. Those “unlimited free flights” are standby. You get first class, yes, IF there are seats available. American oversells flights. I end up sitting at the airport for hours trying to catch a flight. Once ended up on a Greyhound from LAS to DFW! (Agents told us non-revs that it would be the next week before we could get a coach seat, rental cars sold out and every airline was sold out. Thanks March Madness!!) it was horrible! Love my bennies and I have travelled all over the world (husband and I like to catch a flight to go grab dinner… Because we can!) BUT…. If I had to give up my morals for traveling… I would certainly require confirmed seats. Give it a try and I hope you get somewhere fun, but know it is NOT easy to do standby travel. Unless you want to go to Iowa on a Tuesday morning

Airline employees can make decent money, but not even the pilots make “very, very good” money. Flight benefits are nice, but flying standby can suck. Let him take someone that actually wants to be there with him, and find someone you actually want to be with.

Above poster is right – unlimited flights is standby only. Two weeks ago, first class round trip overseas. Last week, last row middle by toilet and bumped from 6 flights and stuck overnight trying to get home – flying through a third city just to catch another flight. Also, depends on seniority and years of service – if he’s a 1990 or later hire, you wont be getting very far.
I would go on a trip just to see if you do have a connection with him. You never know!!!

Original poster is a fool. Dating an airline employee for free flights??? Hahahaha why degrade yourself when you can get a job with an airline easily. I’ve worked for AA since I was 18 (24 now) and the feeling of being able to hop on a flight to anywhere/anytime in the world is great. Standby sucks though, especially when you’re sitting in LAS hungover as F for 5 hours just waiting to catch a flight to anywhere you can connect to get back home.
This guy is probably balding, old, and broke. Set high standards for yourself and embrace being independent.
