Winnipeg Police Officer Out-Of-Control
THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik, Winnipeg police Const. Justin Holz has been charged with impaired driving causing death and failure to remain at the scene after a 23 year old pedestrian was fatally struck by his vehicle last Tuesday. This 34-year-old Holz, who was off duty at the time, was located by police more than seven km away from the scene. Holz was charged, but has been immediately RELEASED from custody, and placed on administrative leave WITH PAY.
Holz is an eight-year member of the Winnipeg police and assigned as a criminal investigator. This officer finished his shift JUST A FEW HOURS before causing this impaired and fatal ‘hit and run.’ When commenting on the case, the Chief Police told reporters that “it’s not unusual for anyone to go for a drink after their work day”… and could not say if Holz had a blood test to determine alcohol levels… A witness said that the pedestrian flew 15 feet in the air and his head hit the curb, and that the vehicle driven by Holz must have been doing 80 [km/h] when hitting him in a residential neighbourhood. Family members said that the victim was in school and was expecting a baby soon. Serving and protecting, Winnipeg style…
This is sad. I hope the victims family gets the justice they deserve.- nik
