EXCLUSIVE: Ron Miscavige- Scientology Is A Cult Disguised As A Religion, Operating As A Business

We recently spoke exclusively to Ron Miscavige, the father of Church of Scientology COB (Chairman Of the Board) David Miscavige. While Ron told us he does believe David has been violent and punched people, as has been reported, he also told us that he believes Scientology is a cult. On whether he thinks Scientology is a cult or a religion, Ron told us that, “It is a cult. And it is a cult disguised as a religion but operating as a business. But there are some basic tenants about observations of life that are true. More basic things. They’re worth learning about but they’re not worth going into the church to learn about it.

“You can get some of the books- and I recommend certain books for reading- at the end of my book,” he continued, mentioning his book Ruthless: Scientology, My Son David Miscavige, and Me which recently came out in paperback.

“But I will tell you this,” Ron elaborated, “there’s another source of information that was out in the late 1800’s and the early 1900’s and I give the names of those books. These philosophers- if you had been in Scientology and read some of these books- and if you were in Scientology, you would say, wait a minute- this is what L. Ron Hubbard said. But these guys preceded him.”

Ron added that, “I think- you know, he said in the one inside dust cover that he studied Plato, Socrates, all these different philosophers. I don’t think that’s true at all. I think he latched onto what these philosophers said in the late 1800’s, early 1900’s- and some of this stuff is almost like copied and pasted. If you hadn’t been in Scientology, you wouldn’t know that the same thing is in Scientology. After having been in for 42 years and studying quite a bit of it, you recognize- wait a minute… I think that’s where he got a lot of his data.”

“Here’s one big difference,” Ron wrapped with saying. “These books… are $0.99 for a book… you can get many of them for $1.00 or $0.99 and get the same thing- the basic tenants of scientology that you’d spend god knows how many thousands of dollars for.”

Make sure to stay tuned for more of our conversation with Ron coming this week.
