Second Class Citizens

THE DIRTY ARMY:  Nik, yesterday the Trump administration issued sweeping policy guidance essentially legalizing discrimination against LGBTQ people. The guidance creates a loophole that could allow any business, adoption agency, hospital, or marriage clerk to refuse service to LGBTQ people. This on the same day that Mississippi’s draconian anti-LGBTQ law went into effect, explicitly making it legal for doctors and other professionals to deny care to LGBTQ people.

uberX it’s too late. You can’t just switch teams. My buddy Lonnie says you are a GIRL. Please don’t ruin his fantasies. He also says he loves the face filters and cropped head shots.- nik

It’s been said that “The eyes are the mirror of the soul”. In the first pic, to me, THOSE eyes say “VACANCY – Room for rent; apply within”.

I strongly oppose the concept of “group rights”, for ANY group. Each individual in a group has rights, but the group itself necessarily CANNOT have rights. Groups do not have obligations, responsibilities, or accountability. When a mob kills someone by throwing rocks at them, every member of the mob says “I only threw one rock. I didn’t kill anybody; it was someone else”. People who want group rights don’t understand the difference between rights and privileges. I don’t think anyone should be denied rights for being LGBTQ, but they don’t deserve ADDITIONAL privileges for making those life choices, either. It really is THAT simple. I wrote this once before on thedirty, but the moderation program did not allow my opinion to be published. If you were able to read the above, then things around here have changed, for the better.

You only have rights if you are in a group. The constitution says individuals do not have protection unless associated with a group.

If you align with a group orientated toward gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation then you are protected against hate speech and discrimination under the constitution.
Therefore, you opposing group rights has no merit in reality.
      Its the law

@ Porcupine: Your ‘facts’ are untrue, and you don’t understand the difference between rights and privileges. If Constitutional protection is applicable to SOME individuals, but NOT to others, then that protection is a privilege, not a right. Whether or not those individual with Constitution protection are also lumped together with other similar individuals is irrelevant. I don’t think you remember much of grade four math. A group is a collection of ONE OR MORE similar entities. There are NO rights that are applicable to ALL members of ANY group that contains MORE THAN ONE MEMBER, AND both the number of members of that group, AND the identities of those members, does not remain fixed. For instance, the statement: “US citizens who have attained age 18 or more have the RIGHT to vote”, is false. The PRIVILEGE of voting is NOT extended to a US citizen without a fixed address who also does not possess proper identification, nor to a US citizen currently incarcerated in a North Korean prison, to name but two examples. Please DO NOT troll me with illogical emotional arguments again. I have no time for that crap. Dismissed.
