Betsy DeVos – Blocked From Entering School By Protestors
One of the most controversial choices President Donald Trump has made for his cabinet is Betsy DeVos, who was recently confirmed as the Secretary of Education.
Today, DeVos tried to visit a school in Washington, D.C., but upon arriving, was met with protestors.
The protestors- who were organized by the Washington Teachers Union- stood in front of the school and blocked DeVos from entering. She ended up getting back into her car that she came from and driving off.
Since the incident occurred, the Mayor of Washington, Muriel Bowser, tweeted that, “This bears repeating: Protest – peaceful protest – is fine but we do not condone violence towards anyone. DC has the fastest growing urban school district in America. We welcome @BetsyDeVos & anyone who wants to learn more about our schools.”
We are sure it is only a matter of time until Trump comments about this, and we will be sure to keep you posted when he does.
