BREAKING: Kathy Griffin Issues Apology For Controversial Trump Pic, Claims She Went Too Far
Earlier today, an image of comedian Kathy Griffin holding a blood covered mask of President Donald Trump was posted on TMZ.
Griffin instantly began taking heat from the photo, even from the likes of Chelsea Clinton, who tweeted that, “This is vile and wrong. It is never funny to joke about killing a president.”
This evening, Griffin has taken to her social media to issue an apology.
In her apology, Griffin stated that, “I’m a comic. I cross the line. I move the line, then I cross it. I went way too far. The image is too disturbing. I understand how it offends people. It wasn’t funny. I get it. I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my career.”
“I beg for your forgiveness,” she further elaborated.
She also added that, “I went too far. I made a mistake and I was wrong.”
In addition to her apology, Griffin also detailed that she is asking the photographer to take down the image.
