BREAKING: President Trump Tells Press- Talk To Fox News About Wiretapping, Not Me
Today, President Donald Trump held a press conference with Angela Merkel, the Chancellor of Germany.
At the end, Trump answered a question regarding the tweets he had issued that called former President Barack Obama out for allegedly having Trump Tower wiretapped during the time before the election.
When asked about the wiretapping by a German reporter, Trump said, “As far as wiretapping by this past administration, at least we have something in common perhaps.”
This first part refers to reports that have surfaced that Obama also allegedly had Merke’s cell phone wiretapped in 2010. It also seems to infer Trump may still believe the wiretapping claim.
“And just to finish your question,” he continued, “we said nothing. All we did was quote a certain very talented legal mind who was the one responsible for saying that on television. I didn’t make an opinion on it.”
“That was a statement made by a very talented lawyer on Fox,” he wrapped with saying on the wiretapping. “So you shouldn’t be talking to me, you should be talking to Fox.”
This was an interesting answer overall to the question, as it more or less diverted from the question and put the blame back on Fox News, rather than Trump taking accountability for the tweets he issued.
