Clinton Blames Comey and Wikileaks For Losing Election, Trump Responds
Regardless of what side of things you stand on politically, the 2016 election seems like it should be old news at this point because, simply, it’s over. With that being said, it is still being discussed rather often.
Recently, Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton appeared in New York at a Women for Women International Event and spoke about her election loss, crediting FBI Director James Comey and “Russian Wikileaks” for her loss.
Specifically, Clinton said, “If the election had been on October 27, I would be your president. I take absolute personal responsibility. I was the candidate, I was the person who was on the ballot. I am very aware of the challenges, the problems, the shortfalls that we had,” Clinton said, before adding that she was “on the way to winning until a combination of Jim Comey’s letter on October 28 and Russian WikiLeaks raised doubts in the minds of people who were inclined to vote for me and got scared off.”
After Clinton’s remarks, Trump took to his favorite place- Twitter- to respond.
“FBI Director Comey was the best thing that ever happened to Hillary Clinton in that he gave her a free pass for many bad deeds!” Trump began with sharing.
“The phony Trump/Russia story was an excuse used by the Democrats as justification for losing the election,” he added. “Perhaps Trump just ran a great campaign?”
Something tells us the war of words between these two is far from over, so make sure to stay tuned to The Dirty for updates.
