Donald Trump Claims He Would Still Beat Hillary In The Popular Vote

While President Donald Trump has said some questionable things along the way, the latest thing he tweeted yesterday is exceedingly confusing.

While Trump did win the electoral college vote, and thus won the presidency, many stories after the election reported how Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by almost 3 million votes.

Yesterday, as has become commonplace, Trump decided to take to Twitter to slam the “fake media,” but this time, dragged the popular vote into it.

“New polls out today are very good considering that much of the media is FAKE and almost always negative. Would still beat Hillary in popular vote,” he tweeted.

“ABC News/Washington Post Poll (wrong big on election) said almost all stand by their vote on me & 53% said strong leader,” he added.

It’s interesting Trump notes the Washington Post poll, as it’s seems he’s only sharing part of the story. Specifically, that article mentions the 53% statistic he quotes, but goes on to note that “most doubt his accomplishments, honesty and empathy.” In addition, that story claims that, overall, his disapproval rating is 53%.

It’s only Monday and, with his 100th day in office coming this Friday, it’s bound to be an interesting week.
