Donald Trump – Pledges To Protect LGBT People
While there have been many controversies surrounding Donald Trump’s Presidency so far, including rumors he would possibly reverse an order protecting LGBT discrimination in the workplace.
Luckily, today, Trump seems to be keeping his promise to be the first Republican president to be for gay rights, as a statement has been issued regarding this protective order.
The Trump administration released a statement this morning, stating that, “The executive order signed in 2014, which protects employees from anti-LGBTQ workplace discrimination while working for federal contractors, will remain intact at the direction of President Donald J. Trump.”
They also said that, “President Donald J. Trump is determined to protect the rights of all Americans, including the LGBTQ community. President Trump continues to be respectful and supportive of LGBTQ rights, just as he was throughout the election.”
We are thrilled to hear this news, not only for the LGBT community, but also that it shows Trump is not backpedalling on promises he made during his campaign.
