Kellyanne Conway Defends Trump’s Wiretapping Claim- “If We Don’t Know, Let’s Find Out Together”
Earlier today, The Dirty reported about President Donald Trump‘s claims that former President Barack Obama wiretapped him. Unsurprisingly, Kellyanne Conway appeared on Fox and Friends this morning to defend Trump’s claim, but her argument was rather weak.
Conway began with saying, “Let’s get to the bottom of it — that is the president’s entire point. You have a number of various and credible news sources showing that there was politically motivated activity all during the campaign and suggesting that there may be more there.”
“The president’s entire point is that the people deserve to know,” she continued, before bizarrely adding that, “If we don’t know, then let’s find out together.”
This quote particularly stands out as alarming, as Trump’s tweets weren’t questioning if Obama may have done this, but rather insisting that he had.
Conway then addressed how Trump was certain Obama had done this, detailing that, “He’s the president of the United States. He has information and intelligence that the rest of us do not, and that’s the way it should be for presidents.”
“Let’s investigate this and see where it leads,” she added. “Let’s have the House and Senate intelligence committees do their work and think about whether to include this… The president has made clear that he would like there to be an investigation of any possible abuses, and that hopefully that oversight activity will clarify.”
As we said before, this is only bound to get more interesting, so make sure to stay tuned to The Dirty.
