Trump Agrees To Renegotiate NAFTA, Claims It Still May Be Terminated
As has become typical in Trump’s America, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to sound off on a topic for today.
Today, his focus seems to be NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement. This agreement is between the USA, Mexico, and Canada, eliminates the majority of tarrifs on trade between these three countries.
Trump took to Twitter to share that, “I received calls from the President of Mexico and the Prime Minister of Canada asking to renegotiate NAFTA rather than terminate.”
“I agreed,” he continued, “subject to the fact that if we do not reach a fair deal for all, we will then terminate NAFTA. Relationships are good-deal very possible!”
It will certainly be interesting to see if NAFTA, which has been around since 1994, ends up being renegotiated or if it does get terminated, both scenarios which Trump suggests are possibilities.
