Trump Defends Firing James Comey

Yesterday evening, we reported that President Donald Trump had fired FBI Director James Comey. A lot of criticism came Trump’s way after Comey was fired. This was much ado to the fact that many feel it was a bit suspect for Trump to fire the FBI Director who was investigating any potential influence Russia may have had on the last presidential election.

Last night, Trump tweeted that, “Cryin’ Chuck Schumer stated recently, ‘I do not have confidence in him (James Comey) any longer.’ Then acts so indignant. #draintheswamp.”

This morning, Trump continued to defend his decision, adding that, “The Democrats have said some of the worst things about James Comey, including the fact that he should be fired, but now they play so sad!”

“James Comey will be replaced by someone who will do a far better job,” he added, “bringing back the spirit and prestige of the FBI.”

Trump wrapped his statements about Comey with saying that, “Comey lost the confidence of almost everyone in Washington, Republican and Democrat alike. When things calm down, they will be thanking me!”

In addition to his words, Trump also re-tweeted a @DRUDGE_REPORT tweet entitled “10 Scandals On Director’s Watch.”

We are sure there will be more coming out regarding the Comey firing today, so make sure to stay tuned.
