Trump Talks Releasing Tax Returns- “Maybe After I’m Finished”
One of the things that President Donald Trump has been most scrutinized for is not releasing his tax returns as is customary of Presidents.
In an interview with The Economist, the topic came up again, as Trump was asked if he would release his tax returns if that was “the price” the Democrats said they would want for them to support his “ideal tax plan.”
Trump responded that, “I don’t know. That’s a very interesting question. I doubt it. I doubt it. Because they’re not going to…nobody cares about my tax return except for the reporters.”
“Oh, at some point I’ll release them,” he continued. “Maybe I’ll release them after I’m finished because I’m very proud of them actually. I did a good job.”
“I might release them after I’m out of office,” he added, also noting that, “don’t forget I got elected without it (releasing the returns).”
Although we’re not surprised, One thing is clear- Trump is not going to be releasing his tax returns any time soon.
